I really did feel bad for Phillipi though - he got screwed on the stones. That first platform was too high for the shorter guys. I mean, I know that height is often an advantage, but when the stone is that light (220) and he can't get it up there, that sucks.
Also, I kind of enjoyed seeing Karlson go down in the finals after showboating so much in his qualifying group. There's a difference between giving the crowd a good show and just being arrogant and showing off (like in that giant farmer's walk).
MicSherry said:So how do you guys think Ronnie Coleman would do in WSM? I think he would do great in Squat, Deadlift, and Overhead press but I think he wouldn't do as well in other areas! What do you guys think? Mike

JOKER47 said:Mark looked like he was having problems the whole time. I only saw part of the heat he was in, but saw him get completely tooled by the carry and flip.
Didn't look like the same Mark Phillipi as the year before.
I saw the Jesse Marunde pulled out due to an injury, but he didn't specify what happened. Anyone know the specifics on his injury?

He had dropped about 30+ pounds getting ready for Nationals, hurt his back BADLY, and went to Worlds 2 weeks later anyway. He is trying to market himself and make money at this sport...

In September he weighed 270. In December he was at 315...interesting huh?

Did he hurt his back in competiton? I saw him on the squat event, and he looked like he was in pretty bad shape.
JOKER47 said:
Maybe I mis-understood, but that sounds like he GAINED 45lbs from Sep to Dec. Did he drop weight from 315 for the Worlds? When exactly was the Worlds held? (I know they just started showing it on ESPN.)
JOKER47 said:Thanks for clearing that up.
Did he drop all that weight trying to market himself? How did he expect that to help anything?
