i never trust china, they have a real complex about being controlled by others, and they currently have a huge US presence in their 'backyard' (okinawa)
i dont think the government of russia will do anything but with so many of its people living so poorly anything could happen should they get desparate.....they got a whole lot of mass destructive warfare
not immeadiate threats though, they seem relativly stable. unlike the middle east
I am not for sure if WWIII is possible. I can see one country attacking another...or a very few...but not the world. I believe that NATO would help stop this too. I can see a series of countries attacking each other (small ones in the middle east)...but not anything major.
I do think that we need to understand that we have a new type of war IF a major war breaks out. If WWIII breaks out...it will probably be one where a large amount of the population dies.

thing to worry about is israeli conflict...arabs control the worlds oil supply and hate israel...arabs got all the money, russians need money and got lots of extra bombs to sell...war on terrorism is spreading us army all over the world...china has 200 million man army and would love to take back taiwan, and with u.s. spread thin..what a better time to try to take over the world...if they side with arabs they got all the oil and enough soldiers and nukes to take over

Its a crap shoot at this point. Terrorism isnt going to stop because its created by religion and fueled by greed [the west]. The more the west is perceived as antagonizing Muslims and oppressing their peoples, the more countries are going to hop on board the "fuck you US-European coalition."
The only thing seperating us from WW3 is time. WMD technologies are the net result of human ingenuity. Given enough money and time, any country will be able to construct weapons of mass destruction. The arabs are loaded to the gills.
If we dont see a big push for world peace soon, its going to all fall apart in about 10-20 years. Human nature will see to that.

With human nature the way it is I truly believe that it is inevitable, but then again I also think that it will be a good thing.

There will be more regional wars (China vs Taiwan conventional, India vs Pakistan nuclear, N vs S Korea, and maybe some African countries) but I don't see a country vs country world war being promoted by anyone. If corporate stocks go down again, who would pay off the politicians?

if it does happen, I am more than comfortable with George W. Bush as our president. I dont think he is a war monger at all. I think anyone who says that he is a war monger is irrational.

I think he is much more inteligent than people give him credit for. He did many great things here in Texas and has made a great President. He speaks practically, and in laymans terms much of the time. Many people who allready did not like him, make him out to be dumn b/c of the way he speaks. The same people loved slick willy b/c of his pretty talking. You know what, talking is not what is important to me. Its what is done. and I didnt like what was done under the dope from hope. I do like what has been done under Bush with the exception of the McCain bill.
