Workout plan help needed

Got Help?

New member
Hi, I'm new to this board (my brother isn't thou), but I've been working out for about 2-3+ years and am looking for a new program. I'm 14, I'll be 15 in Jan. and weigh 118 pounds when not sick (I got a really bad case of pneumonia about a little over a month and a half ago and am still on anti-biotics with a doctors appointment tomorrow. :kaioken: ). I haven't been able to work out w/ weights in about 4 months b/c of other athletic commitments.
What I'm looking to do is gain strength and mass, preferably as rapidly as possible. I, of course, want to gain upper body, leg, and ab strength. Two specifics I also want to work on are grip strength, mostly crushing w/ some pinching and supporting, and I also need to maintain/increase my speed.
I've been looking at 20-rep squats/dead lifts, but mainly Cornholio's and FroRiders variations of Reg Parks program with sprint work (my brother can give me the help i need with this) b4 and grip strength after.

Any ideas and suggestions are greatly appreciated,

Kory

if u are 14 and u said that u have been doing weights for 2-3 years, that means you started when u were 11? lol.

Yup, thats about right. Of course I ddn't do as "big" of exersises I do now, but yea, I started working with weights a long time ago.

What I mean is in realtion to how old I am, most 14 year olds dont work out, much less know proper form. Also I cheacked it out and I started and learned correct form deadlifting and squating with a trainer (Divison 1 run by Cory Micele (sp), at Gold's Gym) at 11 or 12 years old. I had been doing dumbell+ bodywheight excersise for a couple years before that.

Anyway does ANYONE have any suggestions or comments about my plan, or does anyone want me to post the vartions of Reg Parks plan i mentioned?

BTW Bunkka u may wanna take a shower and change your granny panties cause u probably got some mold growing in there.

michaelcoutts and Bunkka > Great help guys. You two are obviously a credit to the boards. Please try and be helpful, or don;t bother posting.

Got Help? > I don't know anything about the two prgrams you mentioned, but I will bump this up for Corn and Fro.

I see you appear to be new on here. Don't be put off by the other two guys responses. The vast majority of this board is not like that and more than willing to help.

Welcome to the boards.

Ignore the first two twits and welcome to the board bro. You're at the age where you set the standard for your future, and it looks like you're off to a good start. Make sure you're fully recovered from pneumonia before you start hitting it hard, cause it can turn into a secondary and knock you down again.

As Joker and Thai said, ignore the first two. Most of us are here to help each other.

Run a search for Cornholio's Old School program. You may wanna check out the many threads involving the 5x5 type routine. needsize is a huge advocator of this.

Welcome.

Thanks again. I've read through the first 100 post of Corns old-school program and FroRider gained 11 lb.s in 3 weeks:eek2: I'll probably go with that and after about 5 weeks (gains plateu) switch to his other one, which im still trying to find. As for being sick, I should be all better by next week (thou I also said that a month ago) I tried doing 20-rep squats when I was about 70-80% better and it really screwed me over.

Thanks again
Kory

hey i also started lifting at 11. i'm 15 now. good luck w/ the old school routine

Oh, c'mon guys... chill the fuck out.

I guess in my older age (I'm slightly over 30), I'm starting to find amusment in younger guys now-a-days in their "perspective" of life.

It's come up twice in recent weeks where teenagers refer to "a long, long time ago" as 1999. LOL!

So... no offense intended, as it wasn't my intent. And I'm truly sorry if I came across that way, fellas.

peace, love and karma, gentlemen.

Its alright...Plus you gave this an unintentional "BUMP":D

So... Anything else someone wants add...comment, suggestion...?
