Working while in college

For those of you who pretty much supported yourself (or currently are now) through college, what works best for you as a job?

Serving? Delivering Pizza? Retail store?

Just getting a feel

i work at an engineering firm and i make pretty good money there. 8.50$/hr. but if you can handle the restaurant business that's where it's at, servers/bartenders can take home some serious bank. my girlfriend worked at a hibachi grill place and would work from 4-10 and come home with 80$+ on weekdays, 100$+ on weekends. not bad for 6 hours of work

bartending or waiting tables is where it is at

try to find a job that is related to your major, this will help you get your foot in the door and get the much needed experience

Find a job at a group for teens. Many times they will provide you with room and board if you agree to stay on campus. Also, if you work the evening shift (which is most likely...you can get your study time in while they are doing their homework).

I did this for three years. Didn't have any rent...Didn't buy any food...Pay wasn't bad either.

getting a job at a good bar would be SOOOO GOOOOD in college (i do that sometimes now) because time spent working sets you up socially. youll be awash in chicks (if youre haf decent verbally)
