Working a 9 to 5 job is it insane or sane?

Self employed and I really can't see myself working for anyone else again but anything is possible. I pretty much work whenever I feel like it.

i think wasting 8 hours a day of your short life is very very insane.

You wouldn't have this belief, if the people who grew your food, built your house, invented your medicine, invented electricity, invented the computer you sit behind, etc. all felt the same way you do.

as for what i do, i work at a restaraunt, that is more like a slave shop. started my job at the new restaraunt last week, now i only work 5-12 or 5-2 and make more.

It can be insane when you aren't used to it. I started my job on May 10th, and I am already getting time off to take a class so it is really nice!!

Doing something you are not interested in is a bit misinformed if you are not living in a 3rd world country. I wouldn't call it insane. Being brainless is insane.

what u do?

I do Freelance computer IT and video stuff. They are seperate but united entities with me. I have an editing suite in my apartment. But it's just a few decks and a couple of computers but that's all I really need. But not dealing with a Boss, dumb ass co-workers or rush hour traffic on a daily basis is a very good thing. I have to hustle harder in some ways because I have to make sure money is coming in. There is no big brother company to hold my hand or who's gonna "take care" of me. But I don't think most companies take care of their employees very well anyway. After I got fired from The Weather Channel 2 year ago I was like fuck working for somebody. This life isn't for everyone because they need the security of a job but not me. A job is just to make money IMO and I have that covered. I know how to save and invest my money and buy health insurance so fuck a job and their benifits and 401k.

Down the road though I wouldn't mind doing some teaching when I am more financially secure since teachers don't make much and I'd really be doing to for the pleasure I get from sharing know and watching minds grow. I'd have to go back to school though and I'm not wild about that idea.

a five day week 9-5 doesnt leave enough quality time to have fun, imo. you work until you die that way
