Work every body part twice a week?

badgermilk

New member
Ok here's the deal! I am on the following supps

500mg Test Cyp/week
450mg Eq/week
300mg Deca/week

At week 6 I will start 60 mg Var/day

Anyone here doing similar cycle and working every body part twice a week or just once?.

I have been on for one week and can not seem to do enough to tire(v) myself out. I train harder then anyone I know, but still I can keep going and going and going....

I'm wondering if I should train each body part twice a week?

Anyone else experience this too?

No offense, but no one is Superman in the gym. Everyone can do enough to get tired out. What does your routine look like?

Two times a week for any body part even on gear is asking for overtraining if your working out with any intensity.

i do it occasionally to just shock myself and it seems to work well I am sore but I like to do it sometimes if I have the time! I also will take a week or 2 off sometimes too just to have a break is nice!

You're gonna end up losing muscle instead of gaining if you train too hard. You grow when you're not in the gym. Personally if I try to do a 3 or 4 day rotation after about 2 weeks my body & joints hurt so bad I can barely workout. I usually do only 1 major muscle group per day & I usually end up hitting every part ever 6 - 7 days. That's how I get my best results. If you lift with intensity you will not have to do more. Come workout with me sometime, I'll bet you wont be thinking you can't get smoked. :D

Not true at all, you can work every body part 2 times a week!

Many people get too influeneced by wht they read in Flex and Muscular Development. Especially for begginers and intermediates working out a body part 2 even 3 times a week is fine.

In magaizines like that they put workouts in there from teh pros, those workouts seem, easy. Well the reason they put those in there is so normal people get the idea that they too witha litttle Nitro-Tech and an hour a week on each body part can look like Ronnie. If they put Ronnie's real workout and "Supplement" routine in there, the avaerage Joe would get discouraged and might not by the magaiznes and supplements. Those magazones provide a false sense of hope for many people.

Plus I play DI football, we work out each major body part 2 times a week, with about 72 hours rest.

Whenever I am juicing I still only do one part per week. I up the intensity and work out a little longer. I know the feeling - I seem to never tire out on juice, but I was also sleeping all the freakin time!

Not to flame ya bro but, I doubt that the whole getting people to buy magazines is true. I agree that some of it is marketing but, a lot of people can not effectively recover in 3 days. The fact that you play D.I. Football really has no relivance in the situation whatsoever. There are lots of athletes on this board, college & pro level & I'm sure there are those that would & wouldn't agree with all of us. Even on gear there is such a thing as overtraining. I don't doubt that some people can do it & grow effectively, I grew well on a 3 day rotation when I first started but, when I upped my intensity & started working for the big gains I got burned out very quickly & started having minor injuries very frequently. I can't speak for anyone except myself but, I know I grow best with what I stated earlier. Badger, give it a try, see how it works, if not then just go back to a previous or new routine. It's all a game of trial & error & we all react differently from it. Good luck bro!

Feel free to do it once in a great while, but I definitely would not recommend that you do that type of workout for any extended period of time. You will definitely burn out and/or get injured. Each bodypart once every 5-7 days seems best for most people.

Here's the deal, everyone is different, so what works for one guy, might not work for another guy.

As for the DI football comment, I was just trying to get the point across that they want to maximize strength, I was trying to show that at a high level, college football, the weight coaches think we should train each body part twice a week.

Everyone is different. I know I make better gains hitting everything twice a week as opposed to once. If you eat right, and get enough rest, then I personally don't believe twice a week is too much (at least not in my case).

Just an after thought--You might think about hitting the muscles using different exercises and techniques on the second workout verses the first.

Just my opinion.

I make much better progress with very brief, frequent workouts. I hit every muscle twice per week, but I only use 4-5 sets per muscle per workout. If I go seven days without training the muscle then I actually regress as far as strength and size. It simply isn't frequent enough stimulation to keep my muscle adapting. In that one week period they adapt and then due to lack of training stinulus regress before the next training sesion therefore I need to train each muscle twice per week. To avoid overtraining my workouts are very intense to stimulate growth, but very short to prevent too much stress and mental burnout. This is so highly individualized that one must experiment to find thier traning frequency. For some it's twice per week. For others it's once every five days. For others it may be once per week. You simply have to experiment with your body. I use this split;

Mon-Chest, Shoulders, Tris
Tue- Back, Bis, Abs
Wed-Legs
Thu- Chest, Shoulders, Tris
Fri- Back, Bis, Abs
Sat- Legs
Sun-Rest

Each muscle gets four sets only(two exercises) and the occasional fifth set every now and again such as a drop set or neggative only set. Anything less and I can count on a reduction in training intensity due to strength loss and then eventually muscle atrophy. This keeps my muscle adapting, but because workouts are short I don't burn my nervous system out.

Thanks! I thought it was just me

I feel like a slug on AS. I sleep like a bum . . .

Thanks for the replies guy's, I guess as expected the responses vary greatly.

I took the week off prior to starting my cycle, I was sore as hell last week. Now I'm feeling better, but the sleep is not helping. I am getting very little sleep! I do not know why. Last night I went to bed at 9:15 and got up at 5:30 as I do every morning. But I just toss and turn all night. I'm not sleeping good at all. Anyone else experience this too?

P.S. Oh and too those who think I'm not working out hard enough(Blkout) ....I've had people train with me one time and say never do that again, it's too much. @ 6'3 255lbs I train hard enough. I owned my own health club at one point and was a personal trainer, so I know what I'm doing.

I train a body part 1.5 times a week. If i train chest on monday then I hit up 6 sets of triceps. I also train triceps and biceps on friday (full blown arm workout). I do the same with all other body parts...for example, i'll hit up a little upper chest on thursday when i do shoulders. You know what...i'll make my reply more organized:

monday: chest and a bit of tri's
tues: back, hams, and a bit of bi's
wed: off
thurs: shoulders and a bit of upper chest (incline presses, etc)
fri: bi's and tri's
sat: quads, a bit of hams
sun: off
