He can request your personal information thru eBay. They'll send him your info (name & phone #) and send you his (this keeps this function from being abused to a great extent). In this case, he can call you many times.

You entered a legal contract by bidding and winning his auction.

Chances are, he wont take you to court. He'll just file a "Non-paying Bidder" warning with eBay. 3 and you're banned from eBay forever. He'll also probably leave you negative feedback.

What did you buy and why dont you want it now?

Suck it up and fulfill your obligation. Don't be a deadbeat dickhead.

There was some misinformation about the thing which makes it useless to me now. It was only $20.00. That and the fact that considering its weight etc, shipping on it should be less than he quoted.

I have been selling on eBay for a little over 4 years now. I sometimes get people to give me a sob story about how they ended up in the hospital, lost their job, etc. maybe you can come up with something like that. Not that I'm condoning it , but sob stories is the eBay way. :D Though it doesn't mean you won't get a negative, just maybe some compassion.

If you have legitimate fraud or deceptive concerns with the seller then at least contact the seller and maybe agree to cancel the transaction. That way he can file a NPB alert under "mutually agreeable" to not complete the transaction or you can pay for his eBay fees (listing/final value/etc fees).

Doesnt matter about the shipping.

Remember, shipping costs often doesnt just mean the pure shipping cost. Boxes, tape, bubble wrap, etc. all cost money. If they are a business, they may have to pay whoever packages their items or takes the items to the post office/UPS.

Shipping cost is also going to vary based on type of shipping.

You should have asked what shipping was before you bid. You should know that it is your resposibility to gather all the pertinent info before you bid. It's not him being dishonest, it's you being a deadbeat bidder.

Dont list something and then contradict what you say once you e mail the person. That is all. He can give me all of the negative feedback he wants.
