heck better way would be for both to get a band, maybe designed by both and rest go towards down payment on a home...who the f*&*) wants to get married, rent an apt/condo and have this expensive ring on her finger.....then save 5-7 more years to afford to buy a home...
There is a way they are getting around that "non-African Diamond" thing. I forgot how. I read an interesting case study on Debeers. Their diamonds are not even suppose to be sold in the U.S. But they are getting around that as well.
Also, Diamonds are WAY overpriced.
