Woman who allegedly tried to cut off husband's penis may fled the U.S.

SOMERVILLE, N.J. (AP) -- The woman accused of trying to cut off her husband's penis as he slept may have left the country, authorities said.
Somerset County authorities issued an arrest warrant Thursday for Nelly Latief, 52, of Hillsborough. Latief was freed on $20,000 bail after being charged in the Jan. 30 incident, but she was required to meet with authorities at regular intervals.
The warrant was issued because she violated that condition, authorities said.
Latief allegedly attacked her husband, Hasan, because she thought he was having an affair with a co-worker. Hasan Latief, who has recovered from his wounds, said his wife of 11 years called him Saturday and told him she was in Egypt.
He claims his wife also asked him to wire her $6,000.
"I said, 'You're crazy,' of course," he told the Courier-News of Bridgewater for Friday's editions.
