Hey man...you got me all fired up about squatting the past couple of days. As soon as I can squat intense again...I'll be hitting it hard.

Not sure how I could live without the squat...a big part of my life would be incomplete.

Here are a few clips from my training in April:
April 6: Getting ready for my Circa Max phase...
322 + knotted heavy bands x 2, 500 deadlift x 1, 4 sets I think

Over the next couple weeks I was a little sick off and on.
April 13th, after having a 106 fever 36 hours prior
322 + knotted heavies and mid bands x 2 x 4 sets I think

April 30th. I tore something in my right foot (hope to find out this week exactly what) while walking this out. You can see me "dancing" to try and get rid of the cramping pain. Weight was light but the pain was not. I'll get this for some serious reps in the next few months...
702 x 2 in full gear

Not near as motivating as the WSB guys...but maybe it will motivate you to have a great squat workout this week. If you do...please post it. I need some motivation.

Good to see you posting again man.

I still come around here daily, I've just been really busy the past several months. Most of my knowledge is in Strongman and pure strength training. Most of this board is leaned towards body building and just general lifting in the gym, both of which I just don't know a lot about. There just aren't many threads that I can help people on.

good skwattin brother..
i like your set up with the j-hooks inside..my gym has a regualr power rack and of course the bars all seem very short so it gets a little dangerous reracking weights. I cant even get my hands out far enough to a comfortable spot..numerous times ive almost clipped a finger.. i get so fed up at times im just either gonna by a squat bar or drive 1.5 hours and train at Iron island

If i can just get my dead and bench to move up like my squat i think id be a happier lifter lol

I need to get some footage as well training alone its hard to see where im going wrong

to be honest
i see the best gains from strength movements
IMO, as i have progressed, strength athletes know more about gaining muscle than most realize.....

you have a pm ;)

Surprisingly, I suffered my first back injury in 2 years yesterday when squatting. I can't figure it out. I mean, my form was fine. the only thing I can think of is that I was sick for a few days before and maybe the body was still weak from recovering. As soon as I racked that Bar I knew I hurt myself. Feeling like a right OAP at the moment!

Cool...

I saw you dance just a bit after coming out of the rack, but if you hadn't said anything I'd of just thought you were widening your stance, LOL.

I just about shit when you dropped that weight down after ur squat, but after I thought about that swinging rack craziness, I guess you just about had to! I thought our crappy ass 4" spaced J-hook racks at the Gold's Gym with bent bars were rough...it doesn't even compare to you coming out of that crazy 'swing' set-up. Needless to say I'm amazed. You get extra points from me and some K just for getting that out of a non-stationary rack. Take care.

I dropped the weight for a couple reasons. I could not put any more pressure on my right foot to walk it back in, my bar is already bent, and it had began to roll down my back a little. I was afraid that I'd hurt myself just trying to get it back into my rack...lol.

My rack is actually one of the best I've ever used...most people tend to agree. The J hooks are moveable to ANY place that you want them and are set up so that I can grab the bar really wide. It is set up on a swinging overhand in my rack, similar to how a monolift would be. It is actually set up so that I could just pick it up, somoene can move the j hooks out of the way via handle, and I can squat without ever having to take a step back. I mostly squat a lone, so it really doesn't matter.

Thanks for the K ;)
