either a fitness trainer or a physical therapist assistant? im looking to score 17-19 dollars an hour. what else is good in that field that i can get a degree in 2 years or less for?

can't you do both? get physical therapist assistant degree, then start your own training business on the side. however you need to build a reputation before you become a trainer. are you sure physical therapy assistant is <2 years? Here in indiana there is red tape with health degrees, so every 2 year degree is actually 3.5-5.5 years.

There are also 1 year degrees, these are usually 'blue collar engineering' jobs. HVAC technician, electrician, plumber, carpenter, construction, etc. They don't have 17-19 hr though unless you are lucky enough to join a union.

PT is major bank. Waaay more than the hourly rate you quoted. If you like that sort of thing, you should go that way.

BTW you can be anything you want......except a newspaper editor.

I have my body treatment/ therapist qualifications that I obtained along side my P.E. degree years ago and I made 20-25 pounds (30-35 dollars) an hour doing massage for clients. All the money in the world wouldn't make me massage a fat person now though *shudders*. I just help out my mate (who also holds said qualifications and is a Muay Thai instructor) do massages on his fighters pre/ post-bout for free as a favour.

Look into getting qualifications that let you do coaching/ sports with children (5+) perhaps - Sports Development Coaches/ Casual Coaches I know make 10 quid an hour (15+ dollars), and that's just the guys that aren't fully contracted. The whole industry is booming "thanks" to soaring child obesity rates.

Sorry, I thought this thread was either about Wiccans or my ex girlfirend.

Carry on

if you want to devote your time in school to be a PT just be a radiologist or something. people that deal with CTs and MRIs make decent money. theres even some nursing jobs where you dont have much hands on with the patients. PT is a disgusting job, IMO. and personal training doesnt pay that much unless you do it on your own. unfortunately, its not easy doing it on your own

For a long-term career I would look beyond an hourly wage. You could incorporate both of these skills into a fitness business. PT would probably get you more cash in hand to start if you get hired by a reputable gym.

hey bro,

Just a suggestion.

Their is a big demand for nurses. (especially male nurses) They have accelerated programs. L.P.N. in just over a yr. and R.N. in about 2 more. I know a guy who is an Rn and is pulling about $80k. (and he is marrying and hot Dr.) If you are real interested in fitness, I am sure there is nursing degrees that are somewhat related.

think about it.. NurseGeorgie24 = rooster in the hen house.

and I bet you would look good in those white stockings. LOL

Think about it bro. The girls who are nurses around here work 3 12hr shifts a week. But, they get paid for 40hrs. I know one who is like a temp nurse. They call her all the time and she only works when she wants. ($45/hr)

Really, I just want to see you post a pic of you in those white stockings in your gallery.LOL
