I start at my new position tomorrow. I'm kind of scared, my company saw what I did at my last place, and decided to move me to a COMPLETELY different area. Same line of work, totally different product, mindset, rules, etc. I'll be walking in that door knowing nothing about nothing, and I have to make the branch revenue 700% more than it has in the last quarter in order to keep it open. Oh, and I have to fire 4 people there in the next 3 weeks. I've been getting my Rolaids on today.

Thank you for the kind words. This is kind of a big thing. It will definitely be harder than last time, it's a different market now. I have been told that I could become an RVP if I am able to make this work. That's exciting.

It's orders directly from the top. I'll obviously be meeting with them to see WTF, but these are people that have been caught red-handed basically stealing info from the company and giving it to outside sources... basically theft. I have proof. If they are honest with me, I'll consider probation. If not, gone.

thats reasonable, however who knows the motives of those that accuse them. Clearly, you are wise enough to get the details. Orders from the top can be flawed and you could be the lacky they found to take the hit in a lawsuit.

My company's protfolio hit $1.1T this year. They have people in HR that are very thorough when it comes to firing decisions. Like I said, I will if I have to, but I am a firm believer that a second chance can make all the difference. Positive reinforcement and results can take someone from a shitty employee to a strong leader. I won't know until I'm there and talk to them.

The portfolio value is totally unimpressive to me (aquisitions mean shit) and HR people are typically incompetent who have gotten by with pretty looks and smooth talk. You have a good plan

My company services $1.1T in loans. We have written $1.1T in home loans. This doesn't include our sister companies, so it should be impressive. Not for nothing, but it is the biggest servicing lender in the country. And HR people are equal to short or female cops. Just losers.

Lol... no. I wasn't fired, just moved because I apparently did well where I was before. I've been showered with appologies since finding out. It's really a good opportunity, I just feel I'm not ready. I have half a business plan, am poorly educated for this work, etc.

i admire and even envy you, jnev. at my job, i ain't (and probably never will) done jack shit. because i don't especially want to. but the challenge you face sounds interesting. it takes a certain kind of person to handle those situations and make them work. being that kind of person should feel good, because it's worth a lot. considering the good shit you've done at your current place, if you can make this new thing turnaround, then they had best recognize and give you the power and money you deserve.
