what is twilight anaesthetic? Just get localized novacaine, i did and it worked fine.
How long recovery takes depends alot on what your teeth are like. If they are impacted the dentist may need to dig around. If they are not he'll just pull them. If he just pulls them then yeah you can go back to work the next day, but you'll be oozing blood from your mouth for about 6 hours after you get your teeth pulled.

I had all 4 of mine removed at once, bottom ones were impacted, and I didn't do shit for about 2 days. Just laid on the couch, high on percocet.

I just got all 4 of mine out...none of them were impacted oral surgeon said they were in "optimal" position
I am just being able to eat solid foods and open my mouth fully 6 days after the surgery.....
Your experience will largely be determined by the position of your teeth(impacted,not impacted) and where they are in your gumline....
Vicodin worked best for me dunno what they will give you.

ya i had taken out
sucks....just have alot of liquid food around
yogurts
pudding etc..
cant eat whole food for a few days...
ur whole mouth is puffy like all hell as well
cant work out for at least 5 days i was told
i didnt use any vidocin (feel like shit on it...pain wasnt bad and i am pussy with these things)
and u sound like a retard when u talk for a few days

My g/f just had hers pulled.... she was under the weather for a few days...
She had them pulled on Friday and was good to go on monday... obviously she was carefull about what she ate... but it wasn't no 5 days... I guess it depends like people say..
She had the 'twilight' stuff too...

Got the bottom two done back in Jan...waited til after New Years/Christmas....impacted and took 8 min each side for the surgeon to take them out..came out in 2 pieces each tooth....got the Nitrous Oxide that i had to pay out of pocket... which really didn't need...just get the novacaine shots in each side and you'll be good to go....
Make sure you take the vicodin before the novacaine wears off, cause its going to hurt like a bitch.....ate only apple sauce, yogurt, and pudding... for 3 days...then tried solid food and basically swallowed whatever i ate... lost 8 lbs in the week...one pocket, the stitching ripped open from coughing too hard and gave me dry socket...then had to use a syringe to wash out the food particles every time i ate.. did that for a month...

I'm having all 4 pulled. All of then are fully in.....no impactions. They problem is the way my gums are, and the bone structure in my mouth leave no room to get back there and brush the outside of the 2 upper teeth...which has resulted in them getting cavities completely through them...I've been in quite a bit of pain the last week or so from it.
Damnit...I don't want to eat just pudding.

I had 2 taken out - only bottom - apprently I don't have any upper wisdom teeth! Both were deep in there & causing problems so there was a lot of pulling & tugging. But he gave me like 6 shots - I was FINE! I like the shots - no pain at all! I was fine the next day. That day though I had some bleeding; it wasn't anything major. The next day my mouth was a lil' swollen but nothing to stay home about. He prescribed me viccadin, but I didn't need it at all - I gave it to my bro-in-law!

im glad my doc knocked me out cold for mine, i wouldnt want to feel him digging and pulling at mine, i experienced little pain, no swelling as was as good as new within 3 days and you can eat like ground beef and soft meats as long as you know how to chew with ur front teeth

Don't worry about eating...you probably won't want to eat anyway for the first day or so.....
Also don't forget the blender Nasty I know but you can blend just about anything

got it done the day i got out of school for summer, on friday afternoon.
the gas they give you is awsome and extremely relaxing, and so is the sleep you get after. i got home, took one tylenol, an hour later, i ate a chocolate pudding, a rice pudding and a jello.
then like 30 minutes-hour later i got some vinella pudding.
for dinnner that night i got scrambled eggs.
then i slept that night, woke up the next day, was walking around, and my face was only a tiny bit numb... i was walking around, ate pancakes at the table normally, cant remember what i had for lunch, then i went to sushi with my brother that night for dinner, by the next week i forgot i even got it done, but i can still feel the holes a little bit with my tongue but its no biggy.
i took one percosette i think not cause i was in pain but because i wanted to see if it would mess me up...lol...
i went in the gym for some light lifting that sunday, and was in full later that week (but then i got sick the week after lol but i doubt its related)
basically its no biggy and youll be fine...the relaxation you get the day you get it done is well worth it

I just got all 4 of mine out in January. Bottom 2 were impacted. The doc put me out for it. It was interesting, one minute I wastalking to the doc as he gave me the drugs the next I woke up with a mouthful of gauze choking me. I laid around for one day, minimal swelling or pain and went back to the gym the after that. You will have trouble with solid foods for awhile and when you do start eating them again you have to flush out the holes in your mouth after and use an anti-bacterial rinse. Though everyone told me horror stories about pain and such it turned out to be NO BIG DEAL. At most I would descibe it as an inconvenience. No worries. Just have your protein drinks, soup and soft foods ready for a few days and depending on how you feel eat whatever you want. No worries.
