Wisdom Teeth Cut Out

For those of you that have had to get their wisdom teeth cut out, that do use, did you have any complications? I'm kind of worried about going under, I am going to wait to get them out when I am not on cycle, another month away, but I just don't know about getting knocked for an hour or so.

Any help or comments would be great.

When you go to take them out , asked to be given the sedative. I had to listen them cutting my gums for over an hour . Also check if your teeth are impacted , and how close the teeth is running to the nerves in the lower jawbone. Nothing like the doctor screwing up and hitting the nerve , which resulted in my chin being completely numb (still is). I know other people had no pain after the surgery , but for me it was unbearable pain for about a week , and major facial swelling. So bad I had to take 800mg of Ibuprofen or 4 Advil tabs every 6hours for 2weeks. Remember , opt to get KNOCKED OUT!

I got mine cut out and the shit they injected in my arm was unfucking believable (Demerol, morphine, and valium combo) then they injected novacaine like they would for a filling and had me on nitrous the whole time. I was in there an hour but i only remember it taking like 1-2 mins. They gave me meprozine (demerol) pills too. Here's a hint though... when u get it done take 2 ice packs with you. for the first 24 hrs, sleep with an ice pack on each cheek. Change the ice every 4 hrs or so. This will keep the swelling down a TON. I had hardly no swelling but my holes where my teeth were hurt like a beotch for 3 or 4 days afterwards. Tell the doc you're a wussy and you need good pain killers.... meprozine or endocet are the best imo.

Infections are a big concern when dealing with teeth, it can go strait to your brain. If I recal correctly being on large amounts of AS reduces your immune system. So having my druthers I would prefer not to be on at the time.

Im with u Focker they juiced me up big time, i was tore up for a week not to mention the vicodins they gave me,i think 90 in all with the refills included. Man i have never been so out of it. All mine were still in my jaw so they cut all 4 out, couldnt eat much for the first week so i lost weight and also my head looked like John Merricks. Nothing to be worried about really all i remember is being so messed up i coudnt walk, then goin to the bathroom to drain my fluids when blood started pouring out of my mouth.. thats bout it. Some would say not to go under because of the dangers in it, but if you remain awake they just keep shootin ur mouth with novacaine . No big deal nothin to be concerned about.

Just had mine cut out 7 days ago today. I was on Test and A50 at the time. No swelling, I had a prescrip for pain killers and got it filled but didn't take any. When I did feel a little pain I took 2 motrin and only did that twice. They put me under and I think because of my size they gave me a double dose. It was hard as heck for me to wake up. I was pretty much out of it they rest of that day and didn't do anything the next day but watch the NFL wild card games. You'll be fine to get them taken out while on juice.

You all are scarin the crap out of mikelong23. lol. My dad's a dentist and i've seen people in and out with wisdom teeth taken out, and some cases are worse than others-- but in MOST cases, they aren't bad at all-- just a day or two of soreness, and you wont be able to eat very much on these days. Stock up on ur protien shakes and bananas- blend them and suck 'em through the straw all day long---rest and life can't be better than that! lol. No worries bro. and good luck happy smilin'

mikelong23 - There is a hugh difference between getting them pulled and having them cut out. Mine where growing in horizontal and forcing my teeth forward. They had to be cut out because they would have never grown out to present them selves to be pulled.

One post operative condition that can be serious is called "dry socket". Be sure you understand the symptoms of this condition.

Also, I make the mistake of falling to sleep on my back right after the surgery and swallowed some blood. I was so sick form that I vomited for a day. No fun when you are recovering from surgery.

.....right on....I am a dentist and you guys are really scarin this kid......a brain infection, come on.....you have a better chance of getting hit by lightning on a clear day.....

I got all 4 of mine out this morning and they were all impacted. They will give you a sedative through an IV and you won't feel or remember a thing. No big deal...
