Winny and Liver Test results

Grainger

New member
I have been taking 50 mg of winny / day for the past 4.5 weeks a long with 300 mg of test. Any idea if my liver counts will be out of wack? My doc wanted to see where they were at.....I hope they are not off too bad.

Anyone have any similar experience?

I would appreicate the help!

thanks,
G

how off are we talking? enough to cause alarm?

i had liver values checked by my physician, who also happens to be a sports medicine doctor, while in the middle of a sust/winny cycle. i stopped the winny for a couple days before i went in and he checked my liver values specifically because he knew i was on plenty of supps (not aas). he said they weren't any cause for alarm...

AST and ALT will most likely be elevated. Probably in the 50-80 Range.(Normal 2-60).

But Winny does the worst job on your HDL Cholesterol level. I have seen Chol panels with HDL <8 when the person was on winny.(Normal HDL > 50)

Winny obliterates HDL.

I tell people to stay away from winny... But with that <8 HDL, you gave me a better argument.

Liver enzyme values won't necessarily be elevated when on a non 17 oral. Remember that ALT and AST can be slightly elevated simply from a high protein diet and intense training.

Winny will kill your HDL as most cycles will have negative impact on your lipid profile. However, there is not realy evidence that 8-10 weeks of an adverse lipid profile will have any affect on the risk for long term cardiovascular events. Coronary artery disease takes 10-20 years to develop so a couple of cycles per year is not likely to have a significant impact if you are otherwise healthy.

Interesting....I just got my lab results back and they are normal! Keep in mind that I have been getting them tested over the past few years and they were always a little higher than normal. The other times that I have been tested, I was off cycle for at least 8 weeks. Now I am in the middle of a cycle and they are normal! There have been no other changes in medications or drugs. My doctor said that whatever I am doing, I should keep it up! ahahhahaha.....I will have no problem doing that!

I guess I should get my lipids checked....stay tuned.
