Windows XP off Kazaa

Other than virus risks (and I scan for those), can anyone see a reason not to use Windows XP home edition from kazaa?

Yes - because it's the Home edition. Get Windows XP pro instead and use that product ID that's going around that makes it so you don't have to activate your copy. If you can't find it on KaZaA, try eDonkey. eDonkey sucks to connect to servers and the download time sucks as well, but you can find almost anything there.

Thanks! But will this d/l have everything I need? I'm worried about installing it and then discovering I need the CD for drivers, etc.

The other thing that worries me is whether Microsoft will have a "counterfeit serial" detect/disable app in a service pack or something.

Okay, update on this discussion...

I nabbed an XP Pro form Kazaa. The description claims it's a full working version.

I've not yet been able to find the Devilsown. It's never appeared on Kazaa, and google/etc. search engines don't point me to any sources for it. Lots of news discussion about it on google, but no hints to finding it.

I'm all but ready to just use the Kazaa version I d/l'ed, but let me check one last time:

Are there any detectors, timebombs, or windows Update patch disablers that'll wreck it if I use it?

Find the "Devilsown" Release of XP Pro. Download and burn and you're good to go.

Where can I grab that at, shoot me a PM if you dont want to post. I searched but could seem to find it on any of the sites.
