Window Treatments...

I need HELP!

I told myself that I would not let another home get any lace anything... I can NOT stand it, and it's turned into a major thing.

I like kitchens, does that make sence? I love kitchens: I eat there, I read there, I create there, I entertain there, I used to fuck a lot in there too...

... anyway, Mrs. chef is demanding lace curtains in the kitchen. Somebody help me find a way to make that happen without looking like Grandma Vikings nightmare.

Links, images, whatever you can spare.

I can NOT believe what a HUGE deal this is. From acorns grow oaks, no?

NO home that I live in will EVER EVER NEVER EVER have lace anything window treatments... or even lace anything. I would feel like a granny.

That is what I am talkin' about!

I fear that I have bigger fish to fry.

where's vel when you need her.

What about something trimmed in lace? Is there room for compromise, or is she dead set?

I think I spooked her by breathing to heavy while I post....

Trimmed in lace makes my anus sieze up. I don't know why, I just can't do lace... even in lingerie, its just not my thing.

i agree that lace is pretty bad, but if you forget about packaged curtains and go to a good fabric store- you can get some beautiful modern kinds or some other alternative that you can agree on- like sheer fabric with some vines embroidered in it for example.
don't let her get the packaged stuff. blech.

bump for V.

I got wooden blinds for my kitchen, best thing I ever did.

My kitchen window faces East, once the sun climbs the mountains and hits those windows, it gets hot fast.

Nice thick wooden blinds keep my kitchen insulated from the sun. They look neutral, not too manly, not too girly.

I like meat curtains.

Small ones though.

Oh, and if you have natural wood handles on your knives, try to get a matching wood.

Mine just have stainless steel handles, but I just thought it might add some cohesion to the room *if* you have wood handled utensils.

Do you have a pic of the kitchen?
I bet I could find something that you two could compromise on.
Lace just doesn't belong in the kitchen.

I'll post up a Pic of the eat in Kitchen window treatment we did tomorrow..
No lace, but I like it a lot..

I have cafe shutters in my kitchen windows. They are 2 sets of shutters, 2 shutters on each hinge and they go from the bottom of the window to the middle. The top half of the window is open. They are white.

Plain, simple, still lets light in.......

I say that given your layout you have 2 possibilities:

1. tinfoil
2. Iron Maiden flag.
