I have decided to start another log. Over the past year or so I have fallen off and gotten back on the fitness bandwagon more times than I can count! I'm actually in a good place right now, new townhouse, a job I enjoy (well, I don't mind going at least, lol!), and I can FINALLY afford a gym membership! WOO HOO! Last Friday I signed up for a year membership at the Y, and I am so happy to be back in a real gym!

So, here goes... I'm 5'6", 24 years old, and as of today 127.2 pounds. So far I've lost 3.6 pounds since I started working out again a week ago. :D I will get some measurements later this week, and I will also check and see if my gym does BF tests. Right now, my only goal is to stay motivated, be able to run a 5k, and be lean again! I was 117 pounds and 14% BF at my fittest (about three years ago), and I'd like to be somewhere around there again.

So, that was yesterday. As you can see, I tend to have a problem with late night snacking. It seems to get worse as the week progresses. Feel free to critique, criticize, butcher, etc. I need all the help I can get! LOL!

1) You'll get your wind back - don't worry about it!! Enjoy your runs!!

2) NO eating a SF Fudgesicle daily isn't horrible....

3) Actually your cals are a little low - for cutting you should be between 10x & 12x your bodyweight, so at 127lbs, that's 1270 & 1524!!

So in order to lose bf, make sure you're eating enough & don't always expect your scale weight to change - you can still lose pant sizes, etc without a significant scale weight change.....
 
Thanks jenscats! I am really looking forward to being able to look forward to running again (if that makes sense, lol!) Right now it is such a chore!

As for the fudgesicles, I'm glad that they are "okay".. I know they aren't the best things that I could be eating, but they really do keep me from munching like crazy. I swear I could eat sweets all day every day!

I will bump my cals up, too! I actually didn't even realize how low they were on Monday! Thanks for pointing that out! :D

Well, depending on the brand, if they are 1) Sugar Free (that's good!) and 2) under 50 cals a pop - then you're fine IMO - as long as they fit into your daily macros....

Remember the ice-pop things in the plastic?? Well they make them SF too!! :p

These are 40 cals a pop! :D I remember those pop-ice things. I would always let them melt and then just drink them! lol! I had no idea they came in SF! I'm going to keep an eye out for them.

OMG! This weekend has already started off on the wrong foot. :worried: (Please excuse me while I vent) Yesterday my car wouldn't start, it just makes a click when the key is turned then nothing. My husband and I tried jumping it, but that didn't work. Luckily I drove his car to work yesterday, so I didn't have to deal with it immediately. Plus, he's still on summer vacation (he's a teacher), so he doesn't really need a vehicle right now. This morning, my alarm clock didn't go off at all. :( It's a brand new alarm, and it was set for the correct time, so I'm not really sure what the deal is with it. I woke up at 8:00, and that's when I usually leave for work. Somehow I managed to make it to work on time. THEN, on my way to work the screen on my cell phone turns white and it's stuck like that. It powers off, and now it won't turn back on. Ughhh...

Now, the kicker... I *okay, just got interrupted by the fire alarm. I feel like I'm in the freaking twilight zone. Nothing's going right. lol!* Anyways, this weekend is going to be a total fricking fat fest. I found out Wednesday, that we will be going to the in-laws because his relatives from all over the world are coming to visit. So far I know that tonight we're having spaghetti (fine, I can deal with that), and tomorrow we are having chicken and dumplings. :p This will be a test. I'm just hoping I won't eat gobs and gobs of this wonderful food!

I won't be able to make it to the gym today or tomorrow. :( It will be okay though! I'll be able to start fresh on Sunday!

Thanks for the no fat after workout tip! I had only thought of the fat before bed thing, so that's why I added it in there. I'll wait a couple hours PWO before eating my ANPB. :)

Alright! The weekend is over!! I didn't keep my notebook with me, so I'm not sure how bad my cals were. I ended up eating two plates of food the day we were gone(just one for lunch and one for dinner), and I tried to fill it up with fresh vegetables and green beans, so I wouldn't eat too many dumplings or hashbrown casserole. :p Other than the drinks flowing like wine, I think I did okay. We had a fantastic time! I'm ready to get back on track, though.

This week I'm going to try to stay close to 40/30/30 every day. I am also thinking about doing HIIT in the evenings. Is there anything else I should be doing?

One of our friends is leaving for Iraq soon, and he wants to eat at Buffalo Wild Wings on Wednesday. Normally I would just not go, but I hate to say no since he is going away. Any tips for not eating like a complete lard ass there?

Yesterday went pretty smoothly (for a change). I got an awesome compliment. I was in the elevator and some dude asked me if I was Filipino. Well, it's 99% white where I live, so I was shocked that he knew. I told him I was half, then he said that he was watching the Miss Universe pageant the other day, and I looked like Miss Philippines who won Miss Photogenic. Of course I grinned ear to ear and thanked him! lol! I came home and googled her immediately. I don't look like her, but if someone else wants to think so that is completely okay with me! :FRlol: Also, Seth (my husband) was looking through the job section of our local paper and found a job that looked like it was pretty much asking for me! I've had the hardest time finding work with my degree (actually haven't found one yet), so I sent in my resume. The shitty part is, I'm actually content with my current job. It's pretty much stress free and the people are awesome. The only downfall is the pay. I guess I don't really know how I feel about it. Enough blabbering... on to my log...

Question, you say cramps are becoming regular .. do mean mean leg cramps upon rising or cramps in general? All over or specifically the leg/calves? Only in the AM or upon waking? Or PM usually before bed? Can you clarify ?

Heya, Bunny! :D Yes, it was nice compliment. It made my day!

The cramps are usually just either in my right calf for right foot, either upon waking or during a workout (usually legs or cardio). It isn't every time I do something active, but it is several times a week. For example, today I got a cramp in my calf two times. Once it woke me up, and the other was during legs. I hadn't gotten a cramp in four days, though. Thank you for asking. :)

Maybe I should start eating bananas or something.

Some chick in the elevator today told me I was tiny. :rolleyes: a) I'm not tiny, and b) I would never go up to anyone and call them fat. What's the difference? Other than that (and hole punching my finger, yeah.. that was stupid) I've had a pretty boring day. I went to the tanning bed during lunch and slept for 20 minutes. It was LOVELY. ;)

Some chick in the elevator today told me I was tiny. :rolleyes: a) I'm not tiny, and b) I would never go up to anyone and call them fat. What's the difference? I could not get to sleep last night. I took melatonin at 9:30, and that usually does the trick. I ended up falling asleep some time around 3:30 - 4:00 a.m. :(

8:00 Horizon Organic reduct fat milk - vanilla :p
These were on sell for .75 each, so I bought one of each flavor. YUM! Too bad they're packed with sugar

Hey ever hear of that Bacardi Island Breeze alcohol?? You can buy it at the liquor store & it's called a "spirit" cuz it's neither rum or vodka, etc.....but it comes in Coconut, Lime (good mixed with Sprite/7UP) and Berry (good with Diet Cola) and it's about 45 cals a shot - so it's lower cal than regular booze....Could be something you could try if drinking at home.....

Thanks, Jacqueline! :) I have trouble getting up that early on most days. It doesn't help that I have problems falling asleep at night, either. lol!! One of my goals for this week is to get up early every day. We'll see. I'm not the most coherent person in the morning, so I usually talk myself out of it before I even realize it. :lmao:

YUM! I like them both a lot, too. I'm hoping that if I put them in single serving bags I won't go too overboard. :p

I have an ounce of almonds in my desk drawer right now (Jalepeno Smokehouse flavor :p ) and they're only 170 cals! ;)

I'm so tempted to eat them, but they'll probably put me over. :evil:

Yup I divide up my almonds too or else I have the same problem and don't wanna stop at just a lil ole ounce :chomp:

It's taken me a while to catch up on your log....looks like you're kickin some azz! :garza:

Whenever I'm the designated driver I try to have a camera so I can take pics of them throwing up or doing something really embarrasing....unless I have to hold their hair while they puke. ;)

Sure do :) well if I only have one bag with me anyways :evil: Just kiddin... and sometimes I'll roast them with cinnamon or splenda and pumpkin pie spice just to keep changin the variety up :p

As promised, progress pics! I couldn't get the pictures to turn out right, but I'm posting them up anyways. The current pics are really dark since my camera doesn't have flash. Plus, I accidently cut off my legs in ALL the pics. :lmao: I'm getting a good camera in a month, so hopefully my next round will be better. ;)

I know what you mean! same here, and I can't go now till tonight, but i find it definitely shows where one still needs improvement and what all your hard work has accomplished.

could it be that time of the month? That is exactly how I get, and I find I have to find a heavier carb somedays (instead of melba toast, whole wheat bread) and is the total meals for the day???? how many calories are you eating a day?

That time should be here in about 1.5 to 2 weeks. That is EXACTLY how I feel, though. I usually take in around 1300 cals on a good day. I ended up splurging quite a bit today after work(getting ready to update my log), but for once I'm not hungry. :p

Well, I didn't make it to the gym today. I ended up having to stay at work WAY late. :( One of the attorneys had to be a douche and give me work at 5:29 that HAD to be done today. I usually leave at 5:30. :rolleyes: Although, tonight ended up being just a nice relaxing evening...

.75 no sugar added FF frozen yogurt (strawberry :p )

Can you belive my hubby had all this stuff ready and waiting for me when I got through the door? It's the sweetest thing he's done for me in a long time. :heart: :heat: I ended up going back for seconds, because I was SOOO hungry. I had to wait way too long between my last two meals. Hubby also bought a six pack of Guinness for us to split. I think he was excited about not going to the gym today. :lmao:

How tall are you, and what is your current weight and goals? You may not be eating enough given your workouts/cardio (how much cardio do you do a week?) do you use fitday.com, it breaks down p/c/f and gives you your daily calories, and how much water you drinking in a day?

3) Actually your cals are a little low - for cutting you should be between 10x & 12x your bodyweight, so at 127lbs, that's 1270 & 1524!!

So in order to lose bf, make sure you're eating enough & don't always expect your scale weight to change - you can still lose pant sizes, etc without a significant scale weight change.....


just wanted to highlight this cause I re read some of your log. I have been 136 since march, started at 24% bf and now I am 15.9% and actually gained 3 pounds 139 right now and you saw my pics.

I'm 5'6" and I weigh about 126-127ish, 130 on the weekends. :lmao: I'm not concrete on my goals at this moment. All I know is I want to lose BF. I do 20-30 mins of cardio 4-5 times a week, 2 sessions max being HIIT. I've been using sparkpeople.com to track my meals. I like the layout and search function better than fitday. It also breaks down the ratios. Water intake is getting better, but I'm not quite drinking my bodyweight in ounces. It is almost always over 100oz, which is a big improvement compared to two weeks ago. I'm still working on it. My co-workers are probably wondering why I'm running to the pisser every hour. :lmao:

Yes, I have seen your pics! They're awesome! I need to get my BF tested, but the person that does it at my gym is only there on M-F while I'm at work. They don't test in the evening. :evil: I guess I'll have to just rely on pics for my progress.

I promise I will eat more! I'm excited about it, too. I LOVE food. ;)
