Will I be able to get off my Synthroid? Ever?

I've been on Synthroid since the beginning of the year. But as of the last few months. I've also been put on testosterone, hcg, DHEA, L-tyrosine. And I also started to eat again at 5-6 meals a day. And of course, I'm training 4-5 days of the week.

When doc put me on Synthroid (very beginning of the year). I was eating only 2-3 meals a day. I haven't trained in months. I wasn't taking hcg or DHEA (my DHEA was at 60 and the range is between 150-700). And my testosterone levels were too high (I was taking around 400mgs per week). And I wasn't taking L-tyrosine.

Since now I am taking hcg, DHEA, normal HRT doses of testosterone, L-tyrosine, eating 5-6 meals a day, drinking more water, Training and of course now going to sleep at a normal time. Can I get off my Synthroid?

Is it possible to get off Synthroid after being on if for almost 10 months?

BTW...since being put on the Synthroid. I haven't noticed ANY changes at all! Doc said I would feel better. I really felt nothing. Doc said I will be more energetic and motivated. And of course....lose most of the water weight I had around my midsection. But! None of that EVER happened.

What I take now is Dexedrine Spansules. It's an amphetamine used for ADD. This drug DID make me feel better by giving me more energy, focus, concentration, drive, ambition, libido. And it also allowed me to lose a lot of water weight gain I had.

Why do I want to get off the Synthroid? Well, because I never saw any benefits from it. Nothing good NOR bad came from it. And let's be honest, why waste the money that I DON'T have on something I "might" not even need.

I'm just afraid that I will end up extremely fat. And or end up with mental disturbances.

were your thyroid levels actually off? how much synthroid are you on? have you asked your dr about changing it to a dessicated thyroid instead?
some people don't see results with synthroid but do with a dessicated ....

and yes, if your ranges are within normal...by all means you can taper off it...tapering down helps your body adjust and make its own hormone so your levels don't tank
as anecdotal evidence I know someone that fiddles with their dose badly and sometimes goes days w/o taking it...her thyroid is already shot tho..but she doesn't like suddenly drop when she stops taking it

I stopped taking it at 150mcg a day. Stopped taking it for about 5 days and noticed nothing different about me. But someone else did tell me that I should gradually decrease the doses. So I started again as of yesterday at 100mcgs. When should I go down to 50mcgs? When should I stop?

like I said...someone I'm close to just drops their dose when they feel like it and fwiw, their numbers are perfect

that said...I'd half it every three days...a functioning thyroid, even poorly functioning, actually recovers very well in the absence of supplementation
