Why was BOS's thread about the bombs closed?

For once, I was going to agree with what the dude said...

BOS: Liberals like to use 20/20 hindsight to try to bash the modern right for what happened long ago...That's my only assumption. Dropping those bombs sent Japan into a sort of "dark age," and doing the same to certain countries nowadays would not be completely out of the question, IMHO.

To whoever closed it: Why?

WTF? I guess I made too much sense, so somone who didint like what I had to say closed it.

IMO dropping that bomb was the right thing to do. Some people just like to carp at others decisions though. All people who actually know what the hell they are talking about will agree that dropping it was the right thing to do. I see people all the time saying how bad it is, some people are just ignorant.

That it was the right thing to do? That it saved Japanese soldiers?

The logic of "They could have done it to us," holds no more water than a coach, after a big win, feeling bad about beating the other team with a long touchdown pass. I can just see a coach listening to his assistants saying..."But, sir...what if THEY had used that play...there are two sides to a coin: Yes, we won, but they lost, too...sniff, sniff." Bwaahahahahaha...

War is about winning. Dropping those bombs helped us win (if not made us win)...no debating that.

If we had not been smarter, and stronger than ANY enemy, we would lose ANYTHING!

Just like now...should we see what the other side has before unleashing hell? I don't think so...

Victory is all that matters...and the ends justify the means!

But, we're still gonna have people bitching. And, if you want to understand their view, you have to reverse the situation. If you don't want to understand what they are bitching about, then you are right, we won, they lost, and that is all that matters.
