Why Karma is broken.

I'm not a fan of Karma. I give it out when I see a post I like, but I think how it's implemented is borken. (spelling intentional)

If there is a post that is well written and provides great content, valueable information and provokes thought I want to give it GOOD karma whether I "AGREE" with it or not. I should be able to completely disagree with what someone wrote and still give them GOOD Karma. Karma shouldn't be about agreeing or disagreeing with a poster's opinions, ideas, notions, facts or fictions. It is GREAT to have diverging opionions and perspectives on the same issues, whether I agree with them presently or not.

It's clear that one can present facts, information, charts, and publications supporting their own particular perspective. But, when it gets down to it, rarely do people change their minds, or opinions on emotionally critical issues based on that.

For you pervs it's a little bit like seeing a HOT chick with a nasty looking face. You'd still poke her, but require either one or two bags, depending on how many beers you've had. (NOTE to the laidies, this also works the same way with your view of hot men)

Its yours, do with it what you want. Dont be so concerned with what other people do with theirs. Look at it as a posession. Mine is mine, yours is yours...moreover, it is not my place to tell you what to do with the tools in your shed. Its your shed, do with your tools what you wish. I'm not sure how it's worthless. I'm not going to give someone red because I disagree with them or they disagree with me. I've already seen that kind of kindergarten red karma exchange in a previous thread or two. Whether someone agrees with me isn't important, it's whether they bring anything of value to the exchange.
