why is it ?

that when I do dumbell curls it is harder doing both arms at the same time.. then it is doing alternating dumbell curls ?
 
I agree with OMEGA with the fact that you have more resistance to gravity when you do both arms...
 
basicall its easier for your body to lift one at a time than it is two dumbells even tho there the same weight :)
 
Try curling a oly bar, but one arm at a time. Grab the bar in the middle and try not to cheat it up. There isn't to many bicep isolation (I hate the term isolation) that will put more of a demand on your CNS and rock your grip like this exercise.
