Why is it that Gear is viewed as good and rec drugs viewed as bad?

That is becauseyou base your beliefs on what you 'believe.' I base my beliefs on what I 'know.'

Without even knowing you: you are age wise mid-20s at most. You do not hold a 6 figure job. (I'd be surprised if you are even turing 50k a year.) You are not in a senior employment position, nor does anyone knowing your employment record see you as promotable to a position of serious responsibility. Your resume does not include ANY impressive career achievements.

I'm not trying to flame your or insult you by posting this. I'm simply forming an oppinion based on the lack of experience and insight you communicate in your writing.

Life experience is a great teacher. Most people waste their youths missing the lessons.

Now that you made yourself feel better asshole. Let me tell you how it is. I have a four year degree and an MBA. I am 27. This year I will make 300K. I am in sales and the top of my company. I drive a benz and I have three income properties. I did it all myself. I am a hustler. I was just trying to pick peoples brains and discuss a topic. It is people like you who are not happy with themselves that have to justify things by bringing others down. Whether you believe me or not I don't give a shit. If you live near NJ I will pick you up for lunch sometime so you can get a ride in a real car and meet a real successful person.

Since I've done both, here is my take:
Recreational drugs generally start, as the name implies, for recreation; however, recreational users quickly turn into habitual users, in part because they are often using among groups who find the drugs very acceptable. As more emphasis is put on drug use, the rest of life fades a bit, leading to the lack of success, and motivational problems (see cannabis amotivational syndrome), and self-image problems other replies refer to.
AS, on the other hand, can help to increase motivation and can help a person's self image. Personally, AS have helped me kick a 5yr mj addiction, so I admit to being biased.
Using rec drugs, I managed to miss out on med school, and basically waste 5 yrs of my life. AS have helped me get my life back on track, and have helped me regain my motivation to be successful. Working now on getting back to med school.
That's my take. I'll probably get flamed 100 times now.

I live in NJ. I'm down with cruisin in the Benz and lookin for some fine women. I also must agree with what you're sayin. The people who do well in life are the ones who can afford to do the expensive drugs more often. Coke is not a poor man's drug. Anyway, I graduate in December with a Degree in Communications. Do you think you will have any psotions open for a fellow hustlin juicer?

Sure... I believe you. You're just posting on your cigarette break.

Actually work for a computer firm. Do a lot of phone work and have the ability to look at the computer at the same time. Some of us are actually born with the ability to multi-task. As for yourself, I hope one day you will be happy when you look in the mirror, but I doubt it. As for now you probably will keep on putting others down to make yourself feel better.

Saying you can’t be successful and do recreational drugs is just ignorant.
The two things are not related.
To be successful you have to work hard, work smart and be lucky.
Social drug use will not hinder your life anymore then social drinking would.
Everything has it’s place. Just don’t mix the two (work and fun – not drugs and beer).

This from someone who doesn’t even drink much less use drugs anymore.

Actually, you'll be happy to know I'm multi-tasking too. I have an 11:00am CDT conference call with a bunch of dope-head biotect CEOs and investors. For the most part we are discussing which crack pipe we like the most and where to get the best bud.

some of think that rec drug users have emotion problems because they like to unwind with drugs. well i think its fucked up to inject something that was deseigned for cattle into urself, i.e. FINA. and get roid rages.
each to thier own. id rather spend my time with a happy person fucked on xtc than a roid raged asshole with something to prove.

ps. im not flaming anyone for using fina.

WTF?? It takes dedication to be successful. Just because you might use rec drugs once in a while doesn't mean shit. 9 out of 10 elite BB's can't even pay their rent!!! MANY professions use rec drugs with no problem...doctors,lawyers,police officers, etc. I know a guy that used coke to help him study to be a lawyer, went on to be a DA for 10 yrs(and a BB) then he starts his own practice and makes over 600K in the 1st yr. Rec drugs are used by SO MANY types of people
