Why is it that all the good informative posts always fall to the back pages?

Because people Love controversey... and most of all, they love trying to be witty and impressing each other.

That's always been my biggest complaint, everytime
someone (myself included) gets a new idea and post
something of real value to us, it lasts about 30 minutes
before it disappears off the first page. Meanwhile,
"Ouch, my ass hurts", gets 30 replies. The other bad
thing is that when you do a search for some of
the "classic" posts they are nowhere to be found. I
did a search for some info that Macro wrote on 17-A's
and it was nowhere to be found; I can't even find
the stuff I wrote on the topic. I guess it's really
just a matter off interest, but I at least think if someone
takes the time to look through chemistry journals and
biology books then we should at least see what they
have to say (or better yet, bump it to the top; so those
who have the background can explain the post in
clear language). Don't get me wrong, the board still is
the best, but we can always improve it.

I think that's also a problem. Some of these people are on here to learn, but when they make a comment that isn't quite up to par with the knowledge of someone else, they seem to get flamed pretty bad for it. Many times I read posts where two people seem to be arguing about a particular idea, when in fact both are really right from their own perspective. This board should be used more to share our thoughts and ideas with each other, instead of trying to be witty and impressing each other. All that does is alienate our fellow athletes. Our strength lies in numbers, and we need as many of us as we can get.

Although sometimes there are posts where you just can't help, but to crack a joke about it.

the turn-over rate has gotten really high here.........lots of new faces  I think alot of us feel like its a waste of time to contribute.......only to have the post on page two the next day.........

I'm new here, but I have been reading for over a year and just started posting. Many people seem to get alot of posts on the board very quickly, with not much substance. That is exactly why I have never bothered to register. Some people need to listen and learn before they speak. Just my .02 cents for what it's worth:D

Unity is exactly right. Generally, though, I read EF for the humor and drama, and go to "that other " board for serious discussion. An interesting topic there will stay on the front page for a week.
George has an open door policy - its good for business, and I respect his right to do that.
