why does my TV/VCR do this?!?

ok, newish TV, old VCR

the VCR has no scart port on it, only the RF one and the video in/out and audio in/out ones

now i plug my aerial into the VCR, and VCR into the TV. however whenevr i play video's like this, the video picture is slightly fuzzy. but when i unplug the aerial from the VCR (so just the VCR connects to the TV) the picture is perfect. its definately the aerial as when i turn its signal intensity up the picture deteriorates further

also, the TV channels dont recieve quite as well with the VCR plugged in, but this is minor compared to the above point....any way round it

and also, the video in/out and audio in/out on my VCR.....is there any way i can plug these into my TV's scart cable port so i can just watch my VCR on an AV channel? the VCR has no scart port, but the TV does....would this work? i fear they are just for plugging external devices in....but surely i could plug the audio and video out into my TV's scart port?

I was wondering what and scart was. It sounds like the signal is bleeding from Video to antenna and vice versa. It probably needs professional repair. But depend on how old it is and how much it cost you might be better off buying a new one. VCRs are dirt cheap these days.

I recomend that you unplug the skiggy port, reverse the polarity of the of your dibnitz, then increase the signal strength on the qwardoff, this should make the picture come in clearly.

thanks for replies so far

thats a scart cable....basically lots of pins, my TV has one and my VCR doesnt as its old and decrepid

i wanna use this http://www.argos.co.uk/_global/images/products/fullsize/5353257A57IFN70271M.JPG as it has 2 cables i can plug into the video/audio in

i think it 'should' work as if i wanted to watch a camcorder on my TV i'd plug it into the video and audio in ports on it, so i should be able to do it with the scart?

as for the VCR, the RF cable when plugged in on its own gives 100% quality, its only when the TV aerial gets plugged in with it the video gets whacky. i could justswap the leads every time i wanna watch a video but i was wondering if this was another option?

VCR's arent cheap round here btw :(
