Why does it take so long to receive magazine shipments?

Seriously, things can be shipped 2-3 days easily nowadays, sometimes nearly overnight.

So how come it takes magazine companies 6-8 weeks to send you your first subscription?

This baffles me.

but it said "you will receive the current print when you subscribe".

So wouldn't they just send me whatever issue is in circulation at the time? even if it had been out a couple weeks?

I always used to get mine pretty quick(1 week or so), and yea it usually was the current months issue.

And then you would sometimes get the next months issue in a few days and be all
WHOA SLOW DOWN, I CAN'T READ THAT FAST

I like magazines.. You can read a bit on a topic and put it down, pick it back up later and read a totally different topic etc. Like a buffet
