Is it just to have kids?

Is it to take a chance and try to change world policies and law?

Is it to be famous?

Why do you think we live?

If you died today would anyone remember you besides friends and family members? Would it change anyones life if you went to bed tonight and never woke up?

Would you be disappointed in your accomplishments from the time of your birth up to today if you were to die tonight?

I'm still wondering. I want to actually make a change. I want to change the way the world looks at race, religion, war and law. I want to change the lives of people living in poverty. I want to end the spreading of disease. I'm still young, but hopefully I'll figure it out one day.

do you want to make a difference in a good or bad way - the bad ways are much easier. the good ways are hard and you usually end up getting taken advantage of along the way.

those are noble thoughts though.

I personally think I'm on earth b/c I will rule the world one day, for I am the chosen one.

To continue the evolution of our society for universal domination!!!! That is the inevitable goal of every life form, to continue the chain of genetics that will one day allow a form of life to conquer the stars and beyond! Everything else is simply a precursor to our final destination. Our reproduction, our technology, our society... all building up to our galactic empire! That does not necessarily mean a living organism, because I believe we will yield the torch to the next life form in the chain... robots. We will create a life form more capable of this goal than ourselves, and they will be our ambassadors for the upcoming seeding of the galaxies. The stars are our only reason for being, no longer will we stand idley by and stare... we will TAKE!!!!

that's admirable and all but once reality sets in and you realize you'd rather put food on the table and pay rent and changing the world takes a back seat.
i'm here to enjoy life and watch some really cool shit happen throughout my life and hopefully experience as much as i can. i plan on cranking out my 1.8 kids eventually and then settle down and get old with whoever my wife will be. i also plan on owning a cadillac when i get old so i can drive slow and piss off all the youngins. i hope to be a very dirty old man with the world's largest internet porn site one day.

You guys are thinking short term... reproduce?! By god's name, that is only the means to an end... Can't you see the bigger picture (heads up, straighten up, face forward, popcorn in hand). See it out there... can you see all those planets, stars, galaxies? That is what we are after my friend. Reproduction, sure on a very minute scale, that is our individual purpose for the time being. But does that mean we are useless once we no longer have the need to reproduce? When we make people in a factory, or robots begin reproducing themselves? NO! We still have to learn... technology and science, that is also our responsibility. Then we have to do the actual job of building the ships, flying around, and setting up colonies. Don't you see my friends, we are just a tiny link in the huge chain of civilzation? All this stuff we are doing, its all irrelevant. It only helps us to slowly grind towards the true reason for being. To understand, to know, and to conquer. Our existence is not so petty if you only begin to understand... sure, our individual existence is meaningless, but as a collective, we are the hope of generations, and the launching pad for many more. It is our destiny, and we must take it!!!
