why do you guys think EF is so successful

i'm wondering why it is that EF blows away other boards of its kind? just look at how many people are online right now, and compare that to the second most popular board.

i think it's because people are free to say basically whatever they want in the board, and that attracts many people, because they know it's a laid back atmosphere and their opinion will be allowed (generally) whether it is liked by others or not.

now things seem to be changing and going the way ive seen other boards go. for the mods who are making it happen, props to you for being dumbasses.

keep doing it and see where the board goes in a few months time. that decision is up to you (this is mainly towards WODIN but any other nazi mods are included too).

other EF members - what is it that you like so much about EF?

i dont want to attack anyone, but is common sense so much to ask for

i'd like to hear some constructive feedback and logical answers...im not trying to start a flame war, but id like to hear what everyone has to say.

Don't you think if you were a Mod, you would be dealing with the same shit Wodin, Corn, Manny, etc. are dealing with. Being a Mod is not all peachy and it's not about being all powerful. There has been more damn drama on this board for the last couple of weeks that I would rather just keep my nose out of it and not respond all too often. I think they are doing what needs to be done. I personally would never want to be a Mod because of all the shit they catch. Everybody always cries, "It's just the internet be a little more thick skinned." But all of this shit gets old and there are people out there in cyberland that only want to stir things up because it makes them feel special. Just my .02 and it means nothing really.

I think that comment came from Wodin when you had made several posts about locking threads. I admit, I think it was a bit out of the ordinary for Wodin to respond that way but different people have different temperaments. I believe that is the first time I have seen Wodin react like that.

Back to the original question....I think Elite has many good boards but I do think there might be too many Mods at this point. But then again, the way drama had been lately, they should add some more to handle the work load! LOL!

like i said before, the reason this board is about 5 times as active as even the second most popular board is because people are free to do as they please. if they have a remark to say that someone else doesnt agree with, they can say it anyway (at least that's how it has been). i saw a post where george told someone to fuck himself (i believe it was plifter?), and the post stayed online, and has not been deleted yet i dont think. that's why people like this board, what you see is what you get. i think allowing people to be themselves is a great way to build up trust among members. i also think a lot of people would agree with me on that. i know george is a good guy because if he wanted to say something he would say it, and the fact he doesnt say anything rude goes to show he is a pretty decent guy, he also allows his members to say what they want, whether it be by insulting his products, or another company. with free speech, you develop more trust and a lot faster.

it's been said before, you can go and try to put up walls on speech and behaviour, but if you do, be warned, because it's only a matter of time before your own rights have walls thrown up in front of them.

not a democracy? well, that may be true, but like i said, it has to be a democracy in order to make it a success...look at mmag.com, 50 000 registered members and usually 50 are online. the admin chose to be an idiot and he's getting what he deserves. if it happens over here, the same result will be seen. i dont want to see this board go the way of many others. it's been great in the past, why not just keep doing what has been done
