Why do women moan and men don't?

I think I've worked out why women moan: it was bred into them in the Middle Ages during the French occupation of England. Back then the local Lord had the 'droit du seigneur' which allowed him the right of first shag on the night of the marriage of his subjects.

Too many times he'd awake the next morning after a night of satisfying passion to find that he'd been humping a sack of potatoes and so law was passed requiring women to moan constantly throughout intercourse.
