Why do we need so much privacy?

I was going through my hushmail account and was thinking maybe the terrorists used this crap. Normal ppl shouldn't be able to have so much privacy. I don't care much for my privacy, I mean the only time you don't want people to know you are doing something is when its wrong or illegal right? And if you did wanna keep it private it is probably something you shouldn't be doing anyway. Granted this helps us do our "business" but a lot of other ppl do worse things with it. The internet too is too private. I believe the government should issue everyone one email address with their real name attached to it. What's the need for this privacy? Secret identities and what not. Its just not needed and leads to trouble.

What about competitors intercepting ideas? What about if you have someone "stalking" you to find out personal details about you?
