My brother is on adderall for anxiety. I've never taken it but I think it's an amphetamine. Great choice by the doc to give to a guy with substance abuse issues, but whatever.

lol you dont have to USE amphetamines to know that they are addictive and they do make you "feel good". besides, both my husband and son are on dexedrine. (ADHD runs rampant up in my house apparently)PICK3 said:lol! you already admitted that you've never used.
BTW, I never met a "normal person".

yeah it helps. my son takes the lowest long-acting dose available (5mg) once per day only. it is night and day with how he functions both in and out of school. he can pay attention and focus much more like normal and he isnt as overly impulsive and flighty. he is doing really quite well academically, and socially. we dont give it to him on weekends unless there's a 3 hour football practice or a football game.TightSlacks said:Does it help them?
How does it effect them?

Or, does it help him?

my husband says the dexedrine also helps him too, but I dont know exactly how much he takes, i think the doctor gives him leeway there as far as how he's doing throughout the day, he's able to take a short-acting dose up to a certain mgs limit. he's definitely been diagnosed with adult ADD. it's evident in how he will start one project and never finish because he then gets VERY EASILY sidetracked with something else and this will continue to happen until he's now found himself in the middle of 85 gazillion things. lol. I have in the past had to stop him and say HEY LET ME HELP YOU GET THIS DONE OVER HERE BEFORE WE START ON SOMETHING ELSE. lol.
jnevin said:He says it helps him stay focused. I was thinking the same about his anxiety, he was having panick attacks so bad he'd drive home and pass out for a couple of hours. I don't know how it works, he's 2000 miles away and I haven't talked to him a lot about it. He likes it because he can drink more too.![]()

i like the heat a pair of tight cords can create, especially whilst going commando. fat girls + tight slacks = the best of times.TightSlacks said:True! But, they are addicting.
