why do my legs flip out like this??

ok so the other day i was doing tricep dips, holding a DB between my feet... when all of the sudden i feel a muscle in my calf totally move out of place. it feels like it's spazzing out and i have to stop my dips and i just stand there, not being able to even move my leg. it literally felt like the muscle popped out of its place. another day i was doing DB bench presses and the same sort of thing happened in my quads. it's sort of like whenever im doing max effort my whole body tenses up and i guess my leg muscles just freak out. when im training my calves it always feels like my calf is gonna flip out and so i can't go heavy at all.

what should i do???
 
i think i know what ur talking about. when i bench to failure and im using my whole body for leverage my legs get kinda tense and start shaking like crazy, is that what your talkin about? i just kept going thru it cuz it didnt hurt, it was just my body gettin used to the weight i guess and it doesnt really happen anymore. is that what you mean or does it hurt you?
 
shit it JUST happened again. i was on my tiptoes reaching for the pullup bar when all of the sudden BAM! ..both calves freak out and get all knotted up or whatever. i had to let go of the bar and just stand there for about 5 mins looking like an idiot because i could not bend my legs to move them.. i massaged them a bit and was able to walk out of the gym in a crippled fashion. this is definitely getting on my nerves. am i perhaps hyperextending something or somethign??
 
that would be cramping. it happens a lot in my calves also. drink a lot more water
