Why do energy drinks work so well?

Why do energy drinks like Red Bull work so well for me. Red Bull seems to keep me awake a lot better then coffee. The only thing I can figure out is B-12. I’m wondering if I can take B-12 and some coffee and get the same effect?

opposite with me. nothing works for me like coffee. not ECA, not Red Bull, nothing. depends on your body and personal tolerance to things like caffeine and sugar.

Maybe its the B-12. I want to try to take vitimans and coffee instead of the drink. This would be much cheaper.

what exactly are you looking for? if you are just looking for an energy boost, caffeine pills are probably the cheapest. you should be taking vitamins everyday regardless.

Red bull seems to work better for me then coffee. It keeps me awake all day instead of a couple hours. I have food allergies so it’s hard to find a good vitamin.

My guess is red bull probably has more caffeine than a cup of coffee, but EC/ECA will keep me up all day and is cheaper

Red Bull also has taurine in it. I think caffeine + sugar equals extra energy. I feel like I have more energy if I drink one can of mt dew plus a caffeine pill, than if I just took a caffeine pill alone. As an experiment, I tried to drink a bunch of caffeine free soda, to see if the tons of corn syrup (sugar) would give me energy, I got bloated and had to pee a lot, but no energy boost. I think the b vitamins and taurine help somewhat in the Red Bull, but I would bet without the caffeine and sugar it wouldn't work. I never tried sugar free Red Bull, does it work as well, do they put extra caffeine in it, since you can't get the sugar boost. I know that mt. dew isn't healthy, and I don't have any science behind my experiment, I'm just posting how it worked for me.
