Why cant i stay in ketosis??????????

Ok, Sinces yesterday i have cut my carbs to about 15gms. I took 3 grams of AlA yest and im up to 2grams right now..........I am almost purple a half hour after i take the ala but than a few hours later its almost negative....I know its only been a day and a half but thats a lot of ALA no?

Maybe because im 275 it is taking longer?
Maybe i am in ketosis but its only showing a trace?

I feel sluggish have bad breath(LOL) and my piss stinks...What the fuck is up?

What's your blood glucose level?

Watch protein bars for glycerol-- your liver will make glucose out of this.

You should aim to eat ZERO carbs.... Then, you will (still) be eating around 15g from hidden carbs..

My workouts would suck unless i take some hydroxy's......

The reason i am doing this diet to answer your question is because i do not want to put on any muscle and if i loose muscle in the process i will actually be happy....Im tired of being "Big"...

How would i check my blood glucose levels besides a finger stick, you can't can you?

You need to go zero carbs for 2 or three days like Andy said. Ketostix.
 
I tried keto diets 3 times in the past and everytime I tried it, I thought I was doing something wrong because my workouts always sucked! --The fact of the matter is... Keto diets are not the diet to be on if you are a hardcore lifter. Carbs are a must for energy and muscle mass.

Those still determined to try it will experience the following effects...

1. Your strength and pumps will disappear.
2. You'll probably have to take caffiene or other stimulants to just get you through your workouts.
3. Trying to do an intense squat workout on a keto diet is next to impossible.
4. Your muscles will deflate like some let the air out of them.
5. Muscle groups take much longer to recover after intense workouts (if you ever have an intense workout).

....but hey, you'll still lose fat right?
 
If i ever have intense workouts? Damn, i am getting hit with lefts and rights here....I was just lookin for some support b4 i lost my mind.
 
Keto diets IMO should be for people who are overweight, not for people who need to drop ten to fifteen pounds. Like JAP said, you loose more than you gain (loosing fat). Risking muscle for fat is nuts. If your keto diet isn't perfect than a lot of hard work will be lost, espec. if your not running any juice to conserve muscle.
