why are people against marriage?

I see nothing wrong with loving and living with some one, but I do not need a judge or priest to tell me I can do it. This way, when people grow apart, or for whatever reason break up, they go their own way. No need for lawyers and paper work to get involved (I know it's not really that simple but much simpler than divorce).

The problem with most marriages is that each person loses a lot of their individuality - outside interests are dropped etc...it becomes almost a co-dependent situation etc
