Why are carbs important after a workout?

Im currently on a ckd diet and, I eat high fat/protein less than 20 g carbs daily....After my workouts I usually eat beef,tuna,or chkn with flaxseed oil or natural peanut butter.

How bad is it not to eat carbs after a workout?

Say if you have a small glass of Oj, how long will it take to get back into ketosis?
 
i don't know why it should be bad. I am in ketosis for 11 days now and i have lots of energy at each workout, actually even more then when i ate carbs. Of course this is no way to get huge, but that is not the purpose of a cutting cycle anyway.

But i you feel you need carbs you can eat them even on a keto diet, look up the TKD - targeted ketogenic diet, there you employ such a regimen as to eat carbs before you work out. You will stay in ketosis if you burn the carbs you just ingested.
 
Post workout carbs definitely help you. I used to never take them and now I do, even while cutting and I feel like I can consistently train harder. Also after your workout you should have a shake not a regular meal. By the time you digest the meal you have passed the anabolic window which is your optimal time for growth and recovery.
