Svend Karlsen is the best in my opinion but I also like Jessin Paulin, Hugo Girard, Geoff Dolan, Zydrunas Savickas, Raymonds Bergmanis and Eddy Ellwood.

Almost every time I watch WSM I find myself struggling to pick a favourite. I can't help but cheer for Mariusz but I always want to see Bergmanis do well, he seems like one of the good guys as does Samuelsson.
My favourite overall is Svend Carlson and I remember Sigmarsson from wayback.

The strongest, most lethal, most cut strongman. BB physque.
Hes a smart guy too not a meathead. Trained alongside him in my gym in the US. A very nice guy.

No question about it. I started training seriously at his gym, we became pretty fast friends. Ultimate showman, kind and giving as you would hope your best friend would be. Met Maggi Ver there too, pretty nice guy, but not as outgoing. Saw magnus at the gym last week actually, he is training again but walking with a cane. Not sure what happened, anybody know?
My favorite had to be Johnny Perry. He was all about busting his ass during the contest then sitting back and having a beer afterward. Also he would always cheer on the other guys or give advice...Rest in Peace.
Kaz was a great strongman, but a total dick! Magnus Ver is a great guy! as well as a great strongman.
Hugo Girard is another one who is great at strongman as well as a great person.
I am not a big fan of Pudge. Dont get me wrong in contests that require you have alot of endurance as well as strength he is the man, but if you put him in a contest where their are alot of static brute strength events you will expose the chink in his armor. It contest like these Glenn Ross, Mark Phillipi and Savickas rule the day

Hugo Girard just because he's so fucking big. Svend Carlson when he's on his game, because he always makes a good show of it. And Heinz Ollesch, despite the fact that he always flubs it in the finals, just because in the interviews he has a great attitude and would be the funniest guy to down some beers with.

Catch anyone one of these guys on a bad day and they are more than jerks... they're fucking assholes... but thats the nature of being a badass...

Qualifying for the WSM? Probably never...lol. As of right now I will be competing in May with some of the biggest names in the sport though. Savickas, Svend, Lotta, Murmerts, etc....

They stuck with their IFSA contracts and IFSA lost their contract with the World's Strongest Man. The WSM happened this year but all the top guys (IFSA) were not there. They had their own WSM in Canada and I hear that it was freaking awesome.
Remember that the WSM is a TV show first...

Not only is he the absolute strongest man alive he is also pretty damn nice. Just standing next to the guy you can almost feel the power radiate off of him. He also has a really open quality to him.
Maruisz was a prick when I met him, can't say that about any of the other pros I have met (and that's a pretty long list).
I really like Travis Ortmeyer too, guy is a blast to hang out with.

We spent a whole night messing with him in Kansas because he was the youngest guy there (I think 22 at the time), everyone kept yelling across the restaurant "Hey Travis are you old enough to be here". The doc at the meet got the best shot in though. He had just got done working on Travis' pec/arm when T's dad walks up and asks the doc "Alright doc is there anything I can do or any product I can get that will keep this guy healthy" the doc looks up smiles and says "Yeah it's a product called vagisil, you might want to look into it". Travis turned red from head to toe.LOL
