Who's watching Pride Elimination 2005 this weekend?

This middleweight card looks excellent. Wanderlei Silva, Quniton Rampage Jackson, Vitor Belfort, Dan Henderson, Antonio Roderigo Noguiera, Igor Volchanchyn, Kevin Randleman, Kajushi Sakauraba, Alistar Overeem, Shogun Rua, Yoshida & other Japanese fighters. That's alot of big names on one card. I think Pride gives you more for the money any more. UFC gives you maybe 1 or 2 fights with big name fighters per card & then they spend half the show plugging their next event, or plugging their sponsers. Sorry for the rant, looking forward to the Pride tournament .

This should be a great tourney. Rampage vs Shogun should be good. Igor is looking good. Overall, this should be great. I wasn't overly impressed with UFC 52, so I'm really looking forward to this. Bushido 6 was impressive. The Fedor and Alexsander are fun as hell to watch. They are just so calm looking. Alexsander looked small next to Ricardo, and Alexsander is 6'6". But yeah, I'm looking forward to this one.

Yea, these elimination matches are cool, especially semi's & finals. I didn't watch Bushido 6 (one of the few I missed), kinda sorry I missed it now.

How can I be incorrect if that is my belief. Its not even close to what society in general consider a real sport. PPV is its audience and it will never be mainstream no matter what you think. UFC will never have 105000 watching it from the horseshoe. Its like arena football. It will have a small following that will keep it afloat but will never reach the pinical of sports. Society will not allow a barbaric sport like that to go mainstream. They wont be able to get mainstream sponsors. Its been proven safer than football and boxing? WTF do you get your info. Show me the scientific journals. Not some internet forum that is pro UFC. 20 years from now Ken Shamrock wont even be able to talk and will be the white Ali slobbering all over himself. Football, Baseball and Basketball are all mainstream and it will never come close to the ratings those sports have.

I was disappointed with most of these fights. Silva fight sucked, Randleman looked like he was tranqualized, most of the other fights were just kinda boring. High point was Shogun... kicked Jackson's ass & looked badass doing it, watch out for him. Igor looked good too. ps. Silva has lost alot of size... where are those cut-up arms & shoulders ?
