Who Prefers The Fitness Model Look Over The Pro Bodybuilder Look?

strong island said:
Absolutely....

If professional bodybuilding continues this way we will have two thing in the next few years:

1. A 350(contest) pound Mr Olympia with a 40 inch GH gut.

2. A lot more deaths in the sport.

I agree. But there are many stages between a fitness model and a pro bb. I think at your size @ 6"3 230, 9% bf that you're far beyond a skinny fitness model and even your goal of 235-240 about 5% bf would still be less than a pro bb.

I also prefer the look of the old bb's as you stated in your previous post.

I'll tell ya who prefers it, "almost" every woman. I for one like the look, but with more muscls. Some of the mens health guys weigh 170-185. That is pretty skinny. I was given that answer from some editor guy on one of their chat rooms. I would rather have the physique of some of teh models is supplement mag's. Bigger, but nor huge.

Don't care how huge I get so long as I'm ripped in doing it, stay above 200lbs, and never scare people - at least too much.

The problem with today's pros is that all that muscle is for show and his actual body is in horrible shape. I challenge any of those guys to a mile run. I don't even think they could survive a backyard touch football game.

I want to be as big and ripped as possible, but I won't sacrifice any athleticism for it. Muscles should help you function better, not hinder you.

I think today's pro contests need to put less emphasis on pure size and cuts and more on overall asthetic presentation. Whether you guys want to admit it or not, these contests are beauty pagents. It's too bad that "beauty" has taken on such a freakish look. Bring back the judging standards of the '70s.

I like more functional muscles.Muscles that will alow my to play alot of different sports well with the added benefit of power and size.

Maybe a new competition needs to come about combining some powerlifting with a typical show.

The events would be Squat, Bench, Deadlift, mile run and a final "beauty pagent"

I'm actually at 6' , 210 lbs, 7% and I'm not looking to get any bigger. To each is own......

I think this is my next goal. I'm at the 7% bf but I need to gain 20 more pounds and grow one inch. Since I'm 35 years old, growing an inch seems out of the question without GH. ;)

I wanna be as big as i can get since i wanna be a pro. But at same time i dont wanna have GH gut. ROnnie is big but we dont need bodybuilders like him who look like they gonna have a baby. We need more bodybuilders like Flex, Shawn. And about bodybybuilders of 70, yes they were not freaks, but they were bigger then guys of 60. Guys of 60s were bigger then guys of 50s. Trust me if guys in 70 had all the juice we have now, they would of been looking like freaks too. Why would u want pro bodybuilders to play football or basketball?? its not what they train for. Its same as i would say to runner that he is so skinny he cant bench for shit he should put on more size. They are pro bodybuilders and they should only train to get better in bodybuilding, thats why they are pros. georgie24 u said that anybody who eats tons of calories and takes ton of juice could be huge mofo. How so not true!!!! U have to have good genetics too. So many people train to be pro but how many actualy become one?
