Who makes the best firewall for the money???

Cosidering :

Cisco

Nokia

Netscreen

3Com

Some............ahem........one....ahem is constantly toying with my computers whenever I hook up to the internet. Shit is getting old.

For example, I hooked up my laptop for windows updates. When the updates were over, the clock was reset, and wrong, by about 23 minutes. Very cute.

I know I can't keep the big boys out but would be nice to get the general riff raff to move on.

Yea....I have the Windows firewall which is probably...........oh never mind.

pick some unknown one. All the big ones are the ones the hackers focus on and try to break. So using some common sense and logic -- you can deduct that the smaller firewall makers would be the safest.

Kinda like how Microsoft's products (ie, windows) are the most hacked *and* hackable.

Cisco 501 which I used to have at home, Netscreen 5XT which we have at work....there's a bunch of good firewall boxes around $500. At the low end ($100-150) the Linksys and Netgear dsl/cable routers are still good enough to keep 99% out and more easily configured.

is something wrong with norton?
I figure I need to spend several hundred to keep the better than average hackers out.

FWIW...I like Norton better than Symantec for the type of work that they do. Symantec turned my boot up into an audible abortion for the past two years.
