Who Is For Public Executions???

nordstrom said:
Aren't you the man who sped in a school zone, where slow speeds are necessary to ensure that drivers can stop on a dime? what if a kid had run out in front of your car, and you were speeding. would you have had time to stop?

1) No. I am the man who was driving his vehicle at the posted speed limit outside of the school zone who was stopped by a police officer in a speed trap who claimed that I was in the school zone when in fact I was not, which will be proven on March the 25th in a court of law.

2) Yes, I would have had time to stop.
2.1) I was stopped at 1:46pm - 14 minutes before dismissal. There were no children within 100 feet in any direction.
2.2) My vehicle is able to reduce its speed from 30mph (my approximate speed) to a dead 0 in less than 4 seconds.
2.3) Given the fact that visibility was perfect that day, and that I had my eyes on the road, I would have had more than enough time to stop in the event that a child ran out in front of my car, despite the fact that it was 14 minutes before dismissal, I was on the other side of the median, and contrary to popular belief, children are not that stupid.

3) IF somehow I was in fact speeding inside of the school zone, which I was not, AND it was during dismissal, which it was not, AND a child did run out in front of my car, which one did not, AND I did hit and kill/seriously permanently injure the child, which I did not, I would not object to ANY form of punishment.

Unlike most, I am capable of accepting the logical consequences for my incorrect actions.

Try again.

is a public execution any different to one behind closed doors? are we hiding the killing from our eyes because we are afraid what our reaction will be? why is one more reprehensible than the other?

They are both equally reprehensible to me.

I think we should have execution "games" on pay per view and give the proceeds to the victim's families! I can see it now. Have a spin wheel with different execution methods on it. Where ever the arrow stops is how you will die!

China has done public executions. Some involving big drug dealers and local politicians. Plus I think it was on TV there. It could be an idea. Why not. If you can prove me it will make a difference then I agree.

I am all for public executions. I dont agree with this "humane execution" shit. If someone murders another in cold blood, he should be beaten to death on natiuonal tv by the family of the victim.

I think american society is far too violent as it is, public exectution MustSee TV would not lessen this at all....quite the opposite of course.

Why would I want to see anyone die?

People should be punished for their crimes, but the taking of another person's life should not be trivialized.

Hell the way i look at it is that we do it anyway so hence we have the blood on our hands anyway also. SOooooo Let the government sell tickets ans tax it, let payper view sell it as well. You get the point.

Just because it happens now behind closed doors does not make it any less real.
