/me raises hand..

i'm trying to work on it.. playing college baseball def had an effect on my vocab for the worse..

On the east coast swearing is far more acceptable than here in Texas. I have GREATLY cleaned up my mouth no matter what the situation. ;)

i cuss when having serious conversations with my mom (and everyone else). sometimes TA's but never teachers..

sometimes i feel its a problem, other times i realize words are words and it doesnt really fuckin matter what i do as long as i suck up to the people who it matters with

i do depending on what company I am in. I never swear freely when Im around elders liek my parents or other family members. with my siblings and friends, yes, lots of swearing. at work - pretty much no swearing instead I use toned down swearing like "pissed" or "crap" or "crud" or "damn:"

I do it too much but I'm working on it. I got too used to it that when I'm heated I drop F bombs left and right without realizing it. I gotta work on it more now that I hang with a more mature crowd.

same. i drop f-bombs like mad

Only on the internet. It's my internet persona. Not in real life.

I used too.

I tried to clean it up.

Now I watch Barney and Blues Clues for my vocab...lol.

I worked in the oil field for 6 years, so I don't even realize I am swearing most of the time. I do try and watch it around my niece or if I am at a family type restaurant.

I don't think my parents even notice anymore. :worried:

Cheers,
Scotsman

I used to but I don't anymore! When my wife and I used to go to the clubs she would get t old to watch her mouth in a bar! LOL She doesn't curse anymore either. Unless, I really push her buttons. The bad ones that is!!! LOL

I curse all the time

usually when i post, text, or am around close friends.

but i have to be professional all the time at work, and when i'm out, i don't want to look like a degenerate at first(i've met potential business associates/clients while out out) till that level of comfort is there. I am either in super swear mode, or complete professional mode. It's like i have an internal switch i can just flip at any given time. i go from being uncensored/ghetto to more tactful and articulate

ditto on growing up on NJ. growing up in the tri state automatically makes you throw around swears

LOL @ the Texas comment. I'm from there and don't really cuss much at all cept when I'm arguing with my DH sometimes. My kids heard me say crap and I corrected them and said "I said oh crab" They do say Butt sometimes.

Tower rigging has massively broadened my swearing vocabulary.

now I swear all the fucking time, no matter what the fuck the situation, I'll usually swear once around little kids, hten stop myself and feel a bit bad, but not really that bad. who fucking cares it's thier parents fault for leaving them so close to me, fucksakes.

ya.. I swear a little bit..

fuck is such a useful word that mean so many different things though eh!

OMG its really that bad (or I guess I should say good lol) in Texas that "butt" is a curse word?

yes, I really have to watch it when I'm coaching my son's baseball teams. I slip every now and then anyway. Luckily, he's getting older, the kids are 10-12, so an occasional "shit" or "damn" doesn't phase them much anymore. I try and lay off the GD, sumbitch and F words, but it's hard., especially when I get excited.
It usually sounds something like, " Next time the sonofa..gun throws that shhh....stuff, you hit that fu...freakin ball out of the go...shdarn PARK!"

No, no, not at all. It just does not sound right for a tiny precious preschooler to be running around saying Butt. I try to keep peace at the park and such by not having my little one's saying butt. Believe it or not, even among my most liberal friends, they don't let thier 3, 4, 5 year old say it either.

I save all my nasty talk for EF, lol!

Ya I guess when you are really little its different. I haven't been around little kids in a while, I always forget the rules.

Usually people who just swear incessantly - are of the lower class, have insecurities, undisciplined, date less attractive partners, have lower income jobs, and I (and others) look down on these people.

Swearing "when appropriate" is more profound.

The same can be said by people talking valley talk, ebonics, slang or just talking non-stop and never shutup.

Communication is the most important skill a person can have in this world. It can get them to the top of a Corporation, the most attractive of mates, the best relationships with their family members, better transfer of your thoughts, and respect anywhere one goes in the world.

Swearing, like everything else in life, is best done with class and moderation.

I don't swear much on EF btw for fucking shit's sake.
