Most of the ones that enlisted pre 9/11 wouldn't have joined if they knew what their future would be like. Armed Forces Enlistment is at an all time low. So low they're even accepting enlistments from convicted felons now. What does that tell you???

I didnt want to get involved in this, but i jsut had to set this strait for a second...Follow me on this one...As big crackhead said, I guess im a typical representative of generation x seeing as im 23 years old, well buddy let me give you what an example of generation x is...I currently attend the Univeristy of Buffalo, one of the top research colleges in America...I have graduated with my bachelors degree in applied Physics, with honors, ( my actual gpa was 4.0 sucker) and I can upload the diploma if you dont belive me....Right now I am in grad school and am currently studying the velocity of colliding electrons in a matter field...Chances are, you dont even know what a matter field is...ne ways a little more, I also indulge in momentum conservation principls, and am working to reform quantum mechanical momentum theories with my mentor as we speak...chances are you have no idea what that means either....I also work at a research facility center in boston during the summers, where we experiement with electomagnetic radiation and its affect on particles such as Muons, which are free floating particles in our atmosphere, that nobody knows where they came from, or what they are doing here....If we can harness the electormagnetic radiation of these infinite amount of muons, that means free energy for everyone...Until the governement gets aholda of the research that is, but thats a different story...I have 1 year left after this seester, which just ended today in which I had my last colloquia at 1:40, and came to the library right after and thats where im typing from...Now like i said, I will have my doctorate in 1 more year, and will have ended up with a total of 5 degrees, count em 5 degree...I have a bachelors in applied Physiscs form buff state, a minor in Religiouse studies from buff state, a minor in Biology from buff state, A doctorate in modern physics and technology, along with a masters in teaching...5 degrees...So basically the whole point of me telling you all this is that you think all kids are a buch of lazy asses, when in reality, you could have never in a million years done what we kids do today,..All the technology and information we are open to, I mean 10 years ago you couldnt click on a link and get information on quantum mechanics, but nowadays, all i gotta do is pull up a website, and could devise a nuclear power plant by lookin up Faradays Law...You did not have access to one tenth of the information that kids have acess to today...My physics mentor is 45 years old and tells me that he cant belive how college kids can do it these days, because there is so much information being taught compared to just 20 years ago, he just doesnt understand how we can keep up, it must be that we adapted to the information age, and right now we are dominating it...we have made more advances in the last 10 years that your generation made in the last 50 years....So go read a book or something will ya, each generation to come will always outdo the last one before it, its just the way it is. so suck it up and feel my post feel it you love it dont you, i love it yea i freakin love it suckaaaaa.....oooooh yea....feeling the flow...go generation x....and go generation y. and jus think that would make you generation w that jus sounds gay to me...generation w for we produced george w bush...yea thanks for that one, your generation gave us bush....enough said!

Close, but not quite right (mother of a 22 year old here and I had him at 19 so do the math ...).

When you get to be over a certain age/maturity level (and there's like no hard/fast rule here so I can't say "when you achieve X age ...") while most people want to help their kids, there comes a point in time where you have to say enough is enough, really. When you're staring 50 in the face, and knowing that bringing your adult child into your home is going to totally fuck up your budget by eating into your extra cash You have to take a hard line.

Sorry guys, we didn't sign on for that. It's our job to get you to adulthood with certain basic skill sets. We are not the room/board/meals/laundry/higher education/media entertainment/cleaning committee, ad infinitum. We'd like to have a life, too. We've already MADE our sacrifices in the front end (diapering, feedings, college fund, etc.). Anything you get AFTER age 18 is gravy, seriously. You don't deserve it, you sure as hell aren't owed it, be thankful you're parents have it to share, but DO NOT frigging take it for granted or abuse it. They love you, they will share, but realize that what you're taking, you are taking, literally, out of their mouths.

the funny thing is every children are not asked to be brought in this world. the days of finding a job and staying there for 40 years is over. thank the great american government for that. i do belive that as a 21 year old that finished college and having a difficulty finding a good job should have the backing of there parents intill they die. but the problem is some kids (not all) are lazy and dont want to get out. now thats not right but my situation is different and i moved back home for a year so i can buy a house and stop wasting money renting. i dont see have u are taking out of there mouths? if your parents cant live comfortable with or without there child at home, then maybe they didnt have there parents to help them and make the right decisons.

Sure there are exceptions-but even a broken clock tells the correct time twice a day.

Now if we were more like Israel which requires every citizen to serve 2 years in the armed forces it would be different. That's why the Israeli Mossad is the best trained armed force in the world. Imagine living in a society where everyone male and female over the age of 21 knows how to load and fire a machine gun with proficiency. Now that's a country you don't wanna fuck with!

If college kids are 'learning so quickly' and older people can't keep up, what do you plan to do in 5 years? I mean obviously, the next crop of kids will be smarter, so you'll be out of a job. I mean, they had a much better jump on the current technology, and you're already a graduate...seems like they'll be better than you.
