Can't live without DVD.

In the beginning, I couldn't really tell the picture difference between a DVD and a VHS. As DVD started to take over, I would have to watch VHS once in a blue and now, I can tell a huge difference in the picture quality.

For sound, if you don't have a home entertainment system, I don't think there's a big difference, but when you are talking about DTS and so fourth, man........nothing's like having a DVD player.

I can't live without it!

I have one for my reg TV, but I am saving for a high end 3:2 pulldown model to go with my HDtv. All toshiba in my home.

Hey i heard that playing DVD's on your ps2 is hard on the system. Is this true?

I heard something similar from one of my friends, dont know if its true or not. Have noticed that if you have a DVD thats slightly scratched, the average DVD player wont have a problem with it, but a PS2 will

I don't have one yet and I love to get the latest "toy," but I am saving up to buy one myself and the one I want is about $150. Yes, my husband can buy it for me, but then I won't get the power to say it's mine. :D j/k

I don't have one. :(

But when Ocean's 11 stops being played on cinemax everyday, I'll have to break down and buy one so I can keep watching it....

THE COOL THING ABOUT A DVD PLAYER IS YOU CAN EASILY GO TO SCENE CHAPTER AND BAM YOUR ON THE SCENE YOU WANT TO SEE. WITH A TAPE IT WILL TAKE YOU TEN MINUTES JUST TO FIND THE PART OF THE MOVIE YOU WANT TO SEE.

We have had DVD for over a year and just bought the Kid a Combo DVD/VCR/TV and bought a combo DDV/VCR for the big tv.

Just moved into the new house and for the first time in 12 years we have cable. I did not want satellite ..

All I can say is it was a major disappointment with 100 channels and nothing much on...

Yes MK, with all the old videos, you will need the VCR for a few more years until the tapes die of old age.

IT'S COOL THAT THEY MADE A DVD/TV/VCR UNIT NOW. THE ONLY THING THAT NEEDS TO BE MADE MORE OF IS THE DVD RECORDER.THEY SELL THEM BUT IT'S VERY EXPENSIVE.
