I have a good job, get paid pretty good.... but i hate coming to it..

i honestly beleive however i would feel this way about any career i enbarked on..

I feel like the working hours take up so much of my time that there is little time to do anything else yet u need ur freakin paycheck to live..

Anyone else think like this

yep

I hate it

But those fucking fascists who give me money every couple of weeks insist on it.

I wish work consisted of having sex, working out and partying. And getting paid double time when you go clubbing all night!!!

I love it. Fast-paced, exciting, get to go to some cool events. A lot of stress and fires to constantly put out, but it's better than a boring job.

About like I like stepping in dog shit. I like work on my own terms.

I too have a decent job, with good people for a decent amount of money, but also wish I didn't do it.

working for yourself is the answer

If Kerry won, we wouldnt ever have to work, and would still get paid.

With a raise!

With a raise!

Sounds good to me.

I'm with havoc on this one. What's the downside here?

Yes and with the Republicans in control of the economy most of us will have to work at least 50 hr weeks just to make it. When I worked 60 hr weeks, I had no life whatsoever.

:worried: I have dyslexia.. sometimes.. it does look right to me.. .. yo're MEAN!!!!!!! :qt:

I hate to actually get up and go to work. Once I'm here tho, it's not that bad. During season I have to work 50 hrs a week for the same pay, so that sucks.

Well i don't do much at work.. as can be seen by my over 700 posts in what 2 weeks..

If i had more work im sure i wouldn't be so bored

My job at this duty station is the same thing every day. Nothing new ever. I get a chance to go to school though, and can do my homework at work so it's not a bad deal.

that sounds ideal for going to school. get paid while doing your homework. I might actually gain some motivation then.

It is important that people find a career they will at least somewhat enjoy; otherwise a big portion of their lives will suck. :)

sometimes i think to pay the bills u gotta just settle for sumthing your good at :qt:

I like working, but it has to be in the right environment. If you come to work and people respect you, what you do, and the effort you put forward then you are going to be more productive. If the treat you like a faceless body who can be replaced at their whim then you're not going to be happy or productive.

True, but YOU are also responsible for your environment. For example, if PLP asked her manager or boss for more work, then I'm sure he'd / she'd be happy to oblige and glad that she had initiative.

Nope he won't.. he is afraid i will take his job.. He is more appreciative of my presense than my actual assitance.. its hilarious

That's sad then. Take his job.

Wait a sec. He's more appreciated of your presence? I sense oak is nearby...

But, you are in Marketing right?

jk oakie...:)

I think I'm very fortunate in that I like my job. I don't hate going to it or being there. I enjoy it a lot of the time. The people I work with are cool and I can joke around with almost all of them. We go out to the bar after work on occasion. Don't get me wrong, there are days that I hate it but that's rare.

Communications (as in change management)? Internal or external?

haha as in advertising and marketing.. i do both internal and external

Sorry, wasn't meant to be funny. At my co, we've got an advertising / marketing section, but also have a "communications" wing. Whenever a new project comes on board, they do the stakeholder analysis and come up with the communication plan.

I was always amazed at what they do. To think someone gets paid for a few ppt presentations and some notes about the project is just AMAZING!

Why would you have internal marketers? Or by internal do you mean something else besides within the company?

aren't you supposed to be able to spell. At least a little bit.

I have dyslexia.. its hard for me to see things that aren't correct.. but yes at work i have spell check..

I've never had a job I've enjoyed, just ones that suck lesss than others. My frist job paid $9K/year, my most recient one about 10x that. I hated both equally.

What I want (and I think most people want it too -- they just don't realize it) is complete control over my time. I'll be working for myself within six months, thank God - because I can't fathom working for "the man" the rest of my life.

already have 2 degrees and an established careerr.. 5 yrs in the business

I haven't had a real job in 7 yrs. I work 4 hours a week at the gym right now. Went to college and have two degrees, but thought it was important to stay home and raise my children first.....work will always be there......unfortunatly...

I love, love, love my job. Of course, I would like more money, but who doesn't? :) I am teacher, and work about 12 hours a day.....that equates to about minimum wage, lol.

I take my job extremely seriously though - I could "get away" with working 7 or so hours a day. But then I would be shortchanging the kids....and that is against everything I beleive in. :)

stay at homes are the best.... i felt i raised better since my mom was stay at home :)

Work is like S & M.

Those who like work are masochists. They enjoy the pain.
Their bosses are sadists. They enjoy giving the pain.

I am too much of both to enjoy going to work.

I just changed departments at work and it's like a complete change of attitude. I like the people I'll be working with and I enjoy the job I'll be doing. It's 100% better than the department/situation that I was in before. :)

good for you...not many people do that anymore, so you're lucky (can't think of a better word) to be able to afford it...:)

you guys should work for the government (talking to the US folks). Great pay (compared to deflating corporate salaries lately), great job security -- and best of all -- can sit on your ass all day and no pressure!

I'm in downtown long beach, and i'm surrounded by government buildings where all these civil servants enjoy their 2 hour lunch breaks and spend half their day yakkin' away. Must be great.

Well afford is a relavent term....we do with out the big fancy house and the new cars and don't buy to many things....but you know what...who cares about all the material things if your happy. We live off 60,000 a yr and that is 5 of us....so its tight but worth it

I wish more ppl with children would make that decisions.. Although a sacrfice.. it makes for a better environment for children :)

I enjoy working for a Budweiser distributor, but I'm also glad it's just a contract and not a permanent position (the company isn't exactly great to its employees) The people I work around are GREAT, although there are a few exceptions (the overweight lady that complains to my face about how skinny I am while she's shoving cookies in her mouth). The pay is decent, but I've made more on less demanding contracts. It pays my bills and keeps me busy during the week... I can't complain. :)

Disagree. I think that kids are better without IMHO.
