laying mine tomorrow, i figured it was time to do away with the same old same old and do some new stuff... hope this turns out well!!!

post some pix so we see how it turned out. I had the kitchen floor tiled at the place that my father-in-law gave us to live at. Dont live there anymore thank God

parents took off the linoleum a few years back and put in tile - i couldnt help much due to shoulder surgery. remember some grout problems, but it looks soo much better now

I retile floors for customers very often, once you get the hang of it, its simple. just make sure the floor is level before you start.

What's on the floor now? Be sure you have the proper subtrate to attach to.

Do you remember any of it? I've heard removing the glue from linoleum is a royal pain in the rear

It's what is keeping me from tiling my floor. It's linoleum on concrete. :(

I've heard they have thinsets that can actually bond to the glue/adhesive that the linoleum leaves behind. Anybody ever tried it?

Just put a floating laminate floor over top of the whole thing.....

lol..
i've really only tiled old construction once- every other time it was new construction, which i'm having done now on an addition i just put on my house- usually i do it myself but i can't now.

the one time i did old construction, i had to put down new cement board so removing glue wasn't an issue.

finished with the "easy" job... easy-lock tiles my ass!!! i bought these things from a place in ohio, i drove 3 hours to save 1.50 per foot... 200 square feet cost me under 300 bucks...

well, there is a fucking reason they were so cheap, these were hard as fuck to get to fit right but i finally got it finished....... after 12 fucking hours!!!

ya, i'm tired and pissy... but this is my new floating floor

That kitchen would be the perfect size for a Hobbit's house.
