Who hated Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon?

i thought i jumped around to much to be really good. It was very confuing and that middle part when the girl was kidnapped, i didnt know how that got thrown into the movie... i didnt really like it

Overhyped? I didn't even hear about the damn thing until a month after it came out and only from friends. I just saw it a week ago on DVD, and it was an excellent movie. And it is definitely NOT supposed to be a martial arts flick in the same genre as the older movies. The fighting sequences were very well orchestrated, and extremely well executed. Although the story was a little difficult to follow at times, probably somewhat do to the tranlation, and it was a little slow, it is definitely not a bad movie. It was a nice repreive from a lot of the mainstream blockbuster American movies...

My rating: 8 Bad Ass Movie

It was a flashback.

Seems like the audience has spoken :)

It's funny because almost every time I go to visit gf's house they watch quite similar looking tv series from videotape (fighting, romance, magic) and the films are definitely not high-brow culture. Of course the film was visually much better than the tv series, but I don't think the story was so much better.

Maybe it's not actually the film, but the idea that a foreign film can be watched in the US of which the critics and people are delighted. :)

Loved the movie myself. Can't get much better fight scenes than that. And the chinese girls were cute too... :D

?

Thanks Cap, I realy need you to tell me I am full of shit for liking a movie. BTW what exactly was so dumb about the story? Was it the fact that it didn't have a traditional happy ending(like most movies) that my have made you actually think?
