Who has it tougher???

In that respect a thin person can eat what they like, whereas an overweight person has to restrict their caloric intake. Which we all can testify is a pain in the ass. Furthermore all things equal it take a bit less initiative and discepline to gain weight than to loose.

To answer the posted question. "Who has it tougher?" With out a doubt unequivocally even. The over weight person has it tougher.

ask this on the diet board...lots of people on there think they are fat on there and lots of them think they are too skinny on that board....
ps ...... i really love this post...make it a poll~~:)

OK...There are MANY factors to consider. Not all "skinnies" and "fatties" are created equal.

I am often approached by women in the gym who say, "You look great, how can I look more like you?" And the truth is, if the woman is kind of thick (she does train but needs guidance with proper diet) SHE WILL HAVE A MUCH EASIER TIME GAINING LEAN MASS than her "I am starving myself into a negative clothing size" counterpart. Why? Because the thick chick IS NOT AFRAID TO FEED HER BODY so with the proper guidance she can transform her body fairly quickly (six months - not six days LOL). Whereas the skinny chick who has barely the strength to walk upright but Goddamnedit - she is a size 2!!! (like is so great when she needs a nap to make it through the midmorning because her brain is so starved for food) could lift until she literally pass out! Her metabolism WILL NOT SPEED UP because not only is she not feeding her body enough to MAINTAIN her mass, but she is actually USING THE MASS SHE HAS to survive.....SLOWER METABOLISM - eventually she will either GET REAL FAT (when she begins to eat...we all have to start eating some time).

It should not be about WEIGHT LOSS, but about gaining lean mass to speed your metabolism so you can burn calories more efficiently and have a better quality of life.

I think the skinny person has it tougher because although the naturally fat person ahs challenges, in all frankness they usually have thicker structures because of the extra weight they carry.

Example: Turn a naturally skinny guy and a naturall fat guy sideways, booth of who get into shape.

Who will tend to be thicker and have a better base(thicker ribcage, legs etc)? The former fat guy.

I am the former fat ass and I can take a year off training and still have a 48 plus inch chest/back circumference and have had it for many years.

Both types have challenges but anyone can ultimatly build the best physique they can and enjoy trianing which is all that matters in the long run, something people who workout forget.
