Who has a Windows XP cd?

Well I *have a copy but my one of my friends has it..I need to format a HDD tonight...or try to anywya..I think it's shot...I can probably find it on IRC..Kazaa is not giving me any luck.

If anyone has a copy of XP Office I'd love that. Also, anyone know why when I boot up, that it takes a couple minutes before I can connect to the internet. If I open a browser, it doesn't open for a minute or two, then when I can see the outline, it loads up. It also takes me a while to open outlook express, but that's it.

It's probably still starting services when you're trying to open IE.

I've got an Athlon XP 1.7, and it still seems like it takes 5 minutes for everything to get started.

Open the Windows Explorer and go to c:\WINDOWS\Prefetch folder.

Click the Edit menu and then click the Select All command. This should highlight all the files in the folder. Once all the files in the Prefetch folder are selected, press the DELETE key on the keyboard to delete these files. Click Yes to send the files to the Recycle Bin.

Restart your computer.

Okay, rather than look it up...

What's in the Prefetch folder?

Start up stuff that you might not want running. Like the Office tool bar, etc.

It replaces the start up folder.

Yeah but this is for the home users of xp home.
