
Thanks Julez. So does that indicate that they are not “chemically identical”? Or does it indicate that ingesting drugs orally is harder on the liver? Thanks again. That clears it up for me.Julez said:No, same drug. When you inject into the muscle much of the drug bypass's the liver (first pass effect). When you ingest a drug a great deal more passes through the liver which means you need a higher dose and the liver works harder to break it down.
Also, the depot injection is gradually released into the blood than the oral version.
